25.01.2022 After 3 months without a gym home, I've been giving @strengthsocial a go this week. Bit of a change after doing Crossfit for 5 years, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far! If you're interested in doing a trial with them, hit me up and I'll point you in the right direction.

21.01.2022 What is dry needling? Dry needling, is the use of needles for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome. In the treatment of trigger points for myofascial pain, dry needling is a procedure in which a needle is inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a myofascial trigger point. Dry needling of a myofascial trigger point will elicit a local twitch response (LTR), which is an involuntary reflex in which the muscle fibers in the taut band of muscle contract. The LTR indicates the proper placement of the needle in a trigger point. Dry needling that elicits LTRs improves treatment outcomes.

20.01.2022 If anyone's feeling like they need a massage, I've had an appointment open up at 1:45pm today. Get in touch asap if you want it!

19.01.2022 What is the Difference between Dry Needling and Acupuncture? Dry Needling is performed using Acupuncture-type needles to treat the musculoskeletal and nervous systems based on modern neuroanatomy science. Acupuncture falls within the scope of traditional Chinese medicine. It would be incorrect to refer to a practitioner of Dry Needling as an "Acupuncturist" since Dry Needling practitioners do not use traditional meridians.

18.01.2022 WHY CUPPING? The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines and rheumatism. Interested in giving it a go? Give me a call to organise an appointment!

17.01.2022 My number one priority is the health and safety of my clients. I am committed to providing a safe, clean and hygienic clinic for everybody, and I have implemented a number of additional health and hygiene policies in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Please be assured that I am monitoring the situation closely, and staying up-to-date with current guidelines from the Department of Health. I will continue to stay open as long as it is deemed safe to do so.... I ask that you exercise appropriate hygiene methods and do not attend the clinic if you: Exhibit any flu-like symptoms (ie. fever, headache, sore throat, cough, runny nose, rash, shortness of breath); Have returned from overseas in the past 14 days; Have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days; or, Live with someone who has returned from overseas in the past 14 days. If needed please contact me to reschedule your appointment. I will be regularly disinfecting the treatment room and door handles. Hand sanitiser is also available if you need. Your continued support through this time is greatly appreciated. Tim

12.01.2022 Whilst this social isolation/distancing has been a hard adjustment for most, it's been great to see people taking advantage of our amazing national parks. Violet was keen for a "harder" walk than going to the bottom of the first fall, so we went to the top of it instead! @ Morialta Conservation Park

06.01.2022 There's been a considerable amount of rowing in the latest block of training at @mesomorphfit_east so it was very fitting that this post popped up in my feed the other day! Reposted from @whiteboard_daily | COACHING CUE | . Rowers Happy Hour - served between 11:00 and 1:00 - shared by Joel Cochran, CF-L3 @decoach_joel... . When? Describing back positions during rowing . What does this mean? In order to maximize efficiency while rowing, set your finish position at 11:00, and your catch position at 1:00. . For more information, please see Common Rowing Technique Errors on Indoor Rowing Machines by @concept2inc on YouTube . I hope you found this valuable. 02.01.2022 Dry needling is the modality of choice when it comes to treating acute injuries, muscle spasms or muscle pattern imbalances. It is very common to initiate dry needling at the beginning of your treatment program in order to break the pain cycle. Once that is achieved, other treatment options are introduced. The benefits of Dry Needling frequently include more than just relief from a particular condition. Many people find that it can also lead to increased energy levels, reduction in pain, improved range of motion, better appetite and sleep as well as an enhanced sense of overall wellbeing. This therapy is also used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, fascia and connective tissue. It reduces and restores impairments of body structure and function, leading to improved activity and participation.

01.01.2022 You know you're on a winner when your new landlord leaves you home brew.
