More information about this project is provided online, prior to the start of the survey. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. If you get interrupted during the survey, your answers are auto...matically saved for a week, so you can come back and finish it later. 24.01.2022 ACON's you[TEST] is a convenient and contactless way to test for HIV. The new service allows you to connect with a trained peer via virtual appointment and be provided with information about two different home testing options: a HIV self-testing kit or the Dried Blood Spot collection kit. A kit is then sent out to you for you to test for HIV in the comfort of your own home. The service offers the option of a follow up chat by phone or video call to provide further information, and referral support if needed. you[TEST] is free with no Medicare card needed and is available to all gay men and men who have sex with men (cis and trans) living in NSW. 22.01.2022 If youre one of the thousands of PrEP users, you might be asking yourself what should I do about my PrEP? Do you continue taking PrEP, alter how you take it or stop it for now? And if you do stop or change how youve been taking PrEP, whats the best way to go about it?

12.01.2022 ACON stands in solidarity with First Nations people, African American communities and people of colour. We are united in this global movement against police bru...tality, injustice, racism and white privilege. Black lives matter to all of us at ACON. As protests surrounding the killing by police of George Floyd have put a spotlight on systemic discrimination and racism in the United States, we also acknowledge the injustices and institutionalised violence perpetrated against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our own country. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are disproportionately targeted by law enforcement authorities and are one of the worlds most incarcerated peoples. 432 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have died in custody since 1991, without justice being served. The recent video footage of the arrest of an Aboriginal teenager in Surry Hills that surfaced this week was shocking and reminds our nation that, every day, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities face police brutality. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices need to be front and centre. We are committed to amplifying their voices and we are listening. We vow to do our part to bring about change in our communities, dismantle systemic racism and racialised oppression. Throughout ACONs history, we have learnt of the importance of standing together against violence, hate crimes and bigotry. We invite all members of our LGBTQ communities in Australia to stand in solidarity with First Nations people, black people and people of colour in this pivotal moment calling for justice and racial equality. To bring about change we all need to play our part in this movement. However big or small, our actions and voices have strength. We can educate ourselves on anti-racism, listen to black and First Nations people, share knowledge within our networks, donate funds to organisations led by black and First Nations people and march in solidarity for justice. The following article provides further information as to where you can direct your passion and assistance in order to help make meaningful change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

11.01.2022 Its National Volunteers Week (18-24 May 2020) and we want to say THANK YOU to all our amazing volunteers! Volunteers are the lifeblood of ACON it was because of the actions and commitment of volunteers that ACON was established in 1985 when the community came together to care for our friends, partners and loved ones in the early days of the AIDS crisis. 35 years on, volunteers continue to play an important role in helping us improve the health and wellbeing of people in ou...r communities. Today, our volunteers work in many roles across all levels of ACON from governance and leadership, to research and education, to client services and home-based care, to events and fundraising. We thank you all our volunteers for your support! Without your contributions, we would simply not be able to do the work we need to do. Your assistance goes a long way in helping us amplify our reach and impact, and achieve our goals. We appreciate your time, effort and expertise and we are extremely grateful for the work that is done by each and every one of you in support of ACON and our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities. Happy National Volunteers Week!

11.01.2022 Today is Wear It Purple Day! Wear it Purple Day is about showing young LGBTIQ+ people that they have the right to be proud of who they are. It is about cr...eating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public spaces to show young LGBTIQ+ people that they are seen and supported. ACON is proud and honoured to be part of so many Wear It Purple events across NSW that are still being held, despite restrictions due to COVID-19. Even though todays celebrations may look a little different this year, now - more than ever before - it is vital we all continue to work together to empower young LGBTIQ+ people in Australia and around the world, and show them how important they are.
