Apart from the constant hand washing and etiquette around sneezing and coughing, we are teaching our little Acorns the importance of ensuring their environment remains clean and healthy. 21.01.2022 As part of our comprehensive school readiness program, our children engaged in lunch box week. This practise assists children in learning the concept of what recess and lunchtime will look like within a school setting, whilst allowing them to extend on their social skills. It was also a great way for children to practise opening their own snacks and drinks!!! We did not want any of our little Acorns to miss out on giving their mum a special gift from our centre, so we created a lovely little take away pack which contains everything needed to complete the gift: -A Mothers Day card to decorate ... -A bundle of coloured pencils and -A cookie made especially for mum (by Miss Marija Framboise Cakes by Marija ) Throughout the week children not attending due to self isolation stopped by the centre to pick up their special package. 12.01.2022 Our Saplings participated in the creation of their very own sensory squeeze balloons The children used a funnel to pour some plain flour into a bottle and then attached a balloon to the end of the bottle. Our Saplings then shook it up and down until the balloon was filled with flour. We then tied a knot and applied another balloon over the top. The children carried their sensory squeeze balloons with them all day enjoying the squishy feel.
