25.01.2022 Look at this gorgeous little tribute to my adopted home town. Finally framed it and now it's ready to hang, Confetti 1 by Debra Hood. Rather pleased with my Christmas present from Mick this year. Matches perfectly with the scarf and the bloom Mimco bag. #brisbaneartist #mimco #debrahoodart #museumofbrisbane #museumofbrisbaneshop #confetti #mybrisbane #jacarandas #paddingtonbrisbane

12.01.2022 When it come to designing, whether it be a fabric print or a piece of jewellery, there is nothing more inspiring to me than the garden. That's why I'm loving this @brisbanelibraries book, HERBARIUM . The aim was to reinvigorate my herb garden but I'm just entranced by the beautiful illustrations, many accredited to Ashlea O'Neill at @heredesign. This one is channelling that king of herbs 'Parsley'. #heredesign #parsley #herbs #botanicalillustration #botanicalart #bookgarden #gardeningbooks
12.01.2022 It takes courage to be a great writer. The courage to be vulnerable; to peel back the layers of self; to remove the mask through which you present yourself to the world. On the few occasions I have been brave enough to do this I know my writing as touched people profoundly. It is my greatest challenge as a writer: To write like no one is reading. #writelikenooneisreading #brisbanewriters #courage #femalewriters #keepwriting #peeltheonion #bebrave #youhaveavoice
04.01.2022 I cannot tell you how much I love this book by @taniamccartney . I'm not sure if it was the beauty of the illustrations or that it made remember how much of this little girl still lives inside me, but it filled me with such joy I wanted to cry...much to the amusement of my two girls! This book is a keeper and should become part of the library handed down to your children's children. It not only celebrates the life and work of the incredible May Gibbs whose home (now a museum) I visited in 2014 but also the stunning glory of Australia's natove flora. I no I'm gushing but did I tell you I just love this book!!!! #mamie #illustration #childrensliterature #maygibbs #australiannativeflowers #childrensbook
