13.01.2022 Hi everyone, Like all of you, we’ve been watching the development of COVID-19. It’s a stressful time for many. We’ve made the decision to cancel all non-essenti...al events. 12.01.2022 Charles Sturt University and the CSU Riverina Playhouse hosted the NSW Department of Education’s regional tour of Frantic Assembly this week. Riverina drama teachers spent the day with Frantic practitioners Perry Johnson and Steve Kirkham, working on the building blocks of the Frantic Method, which has helped Frantic Assembly become leaders in movement direction within theatre. Thank you to Jane Simmons from The Arts Unit for making this happen! Frantic will also be conducting workshops at Charles Sturt’s Bathurst campus this week.

11.01.2022 Happy World Theatre Day! As theatres and performance venues all around the globe are empty and dark, including our own CSU Riverina Playhouse, we still celebrat...e the theatre and performance community while practicing social distancing. We look forward to seeing the creativeness and positives that comes out of this period of uncertainty. The SCCI have transitioned to online learning, and for some specialisations, it means thinking creatively on how to successfully teach traditional face-to-face disciplines such as Acting, in the online space. Working remotely doesn't stop our Acting and Performance Design students from connecting with staff and each other. Practical classes still continue online such as voice, acting and movement, and even more exciting are the creative and innovative ways in which we can continue rehearsals and performances online! The second year Acting and Performance Design students are rehearsing Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure', while the third years are rehearsing a play by Australian playwright Mark Rogers, 'Seeing Horrors 2'. Although they won't be traditional theatre performances, we can assure you that what will be presented to the public online will be unique! Happy World Theatre Day!

Thank you for being patient as we work to restore the site soon! We'll update this thread when the site has restored. Further updates: We’re taking important steps to keep our students and staff safe. From Monday 23 March, we will start moving to online delivery. Some classes, where it is safe, will still be face-to-face next week. We are bringing mid session break forward to 30 March for two weeks so we can finalise moving online. Classes will resume Tuesday 14 April and will be online for the remainder of session 1 2020. Students in residences should return home. Students have been emailed the information they need, with direction on what they need to do. University campuses remain open, with facilities still available, however we will all be practicing social distancing. We know this may feel scary and cause anxiety.
