Also on this day our organisations Manager Sharon started with the company making today her 30th anniversary with us! We are very grateful for her dedication to Activity Centres. She has been a driving force behind all that we are! So happy 30th Birthday Girraween Activity Centre and Happy 30th work anniversary Sharon - Cheers to many more

15.01.2022 Dear Families, As previously advised, we are still open and operating as normal. We are introducing some additional measures to ensure the Health and Safety of our Educators and Children in our care. These are additional recommendations from the Health Department and peak body. We have also sent out a survey to all families to get a idea of numbers in the event of a school closure and us still be able to operate. Finally we have had to unfortunat...ely cancel all incursions in the school holidays. We will be operating in service days with our Educators. We will continue to keep you updated. See more

11.01.2022 With all the advice going around about Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to reiterate that the best way to protect yourself is the same as you would against the... common cold. - Wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with soap and water - Cough and sneeze into your elbow or a tissue - Stay at home if you feel unwell with flu-like symptoms. - Avoid close contact with anyone with flu-like symptoms. It may sound simple, but these are some of the best ways to limit the spread of disease. For more tips and information, visit NSW Health: https://bit.ly/2TGtqqb

04.01.2022 Here are just a handful of social media apps that have become increasingly popular with children and young people. While some of these are completely innocent a...nd we hope your children never experience bullying, harassment or exploitation, time and time again we see people use these apps to target, abuse and manipulate young people - be that sexual, criminal or online bullying. Knowledge is power speak to your children about their mobile usage. Set your expectations for what it will be used for and talk to them about online safety. You can find out more at https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/esafety-guide build the expectation that you will trust them with the device, on the condition that they will be honest and open with you if something goes wrong. Remember not to blame them if it happens - nobody deserves to be abused or bullied. If your child is contacted by someone who pressures them into doing things they dont want to, or bullies and harasses them, encourage them to tell you. Having open conversations about safety is paramount to making sure they stay safe, and are savvy about how they use these apps. This doesnt just mean sexual exploitation; we have seen examples of classmates using social media to gang up on, and bully their friends. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Remember, if you have concerns a child is being harassed or exploited contact your local Police station and if a child is at immediate risk or in danger its always 000. Knowledge is power help them to protect themselves.

01.01.2022 Dear Families, I hope everyone is doing okay during this difficult time, there is definitely a lot of changes happening for all of us at the moment and the Staff here at ACI are doing their very best to ensure we are able to support our Staff, Children and their Families. Like you, the only information we are receiving on COVID 19 is what the media is telling us, at this stage we understand the Prime Minister has told everyone that from Monday there will be free child care..., how this is going to work for us, we have no idea. We do know that our services will remain open for families requiring care, and as always our Girraween Service will be open throughout the school holidays for any families who are still working and require care for their children. Statements will go out as normal on Monday 6th April and as we bill in arrears, there will be fees debited from your account (see statement for details) for fees incurred up to and including today, Whereas from Monday onwards parents will not have to pay the gap fee for care. We are doing our best to get through all of your emails, please be patient with us as this is a very stressful situation for all of us and we want to ensure we are giving you the correct information. If you have cancelled care due to COVID19, please email the service your child attends and reactivate your enrolment, this will enable us to continue to operate and still be viable when this pandemic is over and we return to some form of normality. Thankyou for your support during this difficult time Take care Sharon x
