20.01.2022 Penny thought it would be a good idea to eat 2 whole blocks of Rat bait. Luckily her Owner caught her in the act and was able to bring her straight down to make... her vomit the bait up. After spending the day in hospital yesterday on a drip she is feeling much better. We will see her back for another blood test in a few days to make sure her blood is still clotting. If you use rat baits around your home there is a new product that New Era Pest Control use that is much safer than other products. As Australians, were pretty well equipped to handle spider bites, but in case you need a refresher, heres how you can treat a bite: Follow the DRSABCD action plan Lay the patient down, rest and reassure. Ensure you monitor their condition for any changes. Apply a cold pack or cold compression to lessen the pain for no longer than 20 minutes Seek medical aid if the person bitten is a young child or elderly, has collapsed or is suffering from severe pain. If youve been bitten, you may experience some unpleasant symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, swelling and profuse sweating. Try to remain calm and seek medical attention. You shouldnt necessarily need an ambulance for a spider bite, but in severe life-threatening cases always call Triple Zero (000).
