08.01.2022 Words without music: Hazel liked to spend a little time each day googling things she had no interest in. She would research products she didn't want to buy and look up illnesses she did not have. Sometimes she would email questions to politicians and rock stars. She usually did not support the political party or appreciate the music of the rock star, and she had no interest in reading their replies. She often posted various links and YouTube clips she found dull on social med...ia. Some days she'd even check into places she'd never been. One day a friend tagged her and asked her to post her top ten favourite albums on Facebook. She copied Mojo magazine’s "Ten Most Important Albums in Rock History" and posted them. Of course, she still used the internet for all the usual things you and I do; for business, banking, the things she was interested in. But amongst her interests she scattered misleading searches, hoping to create a false online profile. She thought if she used the internet in this way it would stop companies and government agencies from searching her data history to get accurate information on who she really was and what she really liked. But soon word got out of Hazel's eccentricities. Her online habits were given a medical title and labelled an illness. Medical professionals told her to cease her false online activity. They designed a medication to stop her hijinks and injected her with a lifetime dose. The medication made Hazel numb, obese and a total bore. And then the medical professionals told her to lose weight or she'd get diabetes ... or worse. Hazel googled "diabetes". www.adambuckland.com

Jolting left-turns (the organ solo on This Lullaby’s For You, the acapella on X Equals 2X and the wh...Continue reading
