23.01.2022 And some breaking news Yogi had his first meet and greet yesterday and it has been confirmed that he will go to Sally McCulloch and her gorgeous daughters to be a pampered brumby mascot and advocate at her farm in Kalkite. Lots of their guests ask about the brumbies so he will spend his days being patted and given treats. Carol calls him Mr Lover Lover which gives you an idea of how perfectly suited he is to his new career

23.01.2022 Thank you Carol Hancock for your unswerving support for these beautiful animals - and your truly amazing photographs

22.01.2022 Our little Yogi boy (he will always be our boy in our hearts even though he has gone to the perfect home) is a big boy now and out in his own paddock. And look at how clean he is! We are back to mud again here so it makes me extra pleased for him He is settling well and is learning that nipping your new mum is not an option - firmly but gently of course!

22.01.2022 This is what makes the feeding, depooping and slow handling all worth it for me for brumby rescue

21.01.2022 And our own barbie girl, Charlotte, has an extra special new home ! Her new mum is unwell at the moment so we will keep her here until it is the right time for her to go. Gives us more time for scratches in that lovely blonde mane

20.01.2022 I went to the post office to pick up a parcel - just safety screens for my iphone, or so I thought ! Look at what has arrived :-) Thank you so much Jo S. Stacey for this amazing drawing. I was expecting a simple logo to promote our brumbies but have that AND an amazing piece of art work. I get to keep KNP Dynamite with me forever now XOXOXO

17.01.2022 No pics as I was kinda busy but young Yogi had his first lead out of the yard today for some green pick and learn forward, backward, space and a little head down. Big day so only teeny bits of each. This guy just takes it in his stride

15.01.2022 A lazy day at the farm for everyone EXCEPT the humans !

14.01.2022 Mel Yeoman, we can do this with kids and brumbies for our christmas day catch up :-)

13.01.2022 And as a heads up to check in with us tomorrow, Dynamite, Electra and Jaspers new family have driven all the way from Newcastle, in school holiday traffic last night, just to spend time with them. And it has reaffirmed the love at first sight that they experienced when they all met a few weeks ago Love feeling like a smarty pants when I get the matching right lol!

11.01.2022 We had a simply awesome day yesterday, with visitors, handling and lots of learning and loving for the brumbies. Morgan Shepherd, Aspens new mum, came to stay and do some handling with her. I’m not ashamed to boast that I matched this pair very well indeed

10.01.2022 I love seeing our brumbs wander from paddock to paddock and dam to dam. This is a mix of my Gen 1 boy, Gen 2 foal, agisters, those waiting for transport and a mare who is being sponsored. They have about 40 acres to roam around in and use pretty much all of it in their ambles

10.01.2022 We have a new addition to our rescue - no, not another foal, but a little eastern grey kangaroo that LAOKO chose me as a carer for. Her name is Zoe and she is just over 1.3kgs. Rescue for me is a passion and an instinct. Not a political play or virtue signalling. Whether deemed native or 'feral', I view all creatures worthy of our best efforts and best care we can give. Does this make me a softy with no sense? No, I euthanize for our local wildlife rescue, and cry whils...t I do it. But what are their alternatives with broken legs, ribs and jaws. I also pouch check, rescue and care. No creature deserves cruelty and destruction. Hmmm, except European wasps and the occasional humanoid that I meet :-) I hope to bring you many photos of Zoe flourishing until she is ready to be free. Much as I will be doing with our brumbies as they transition to their new homes XOXO See more

08.01.2022 and (drumroll) Copper and Picasso have been adopted! A family very well known to brumby advocates and supporters have decided to make these two boys there own.... I'll let them do the big reveal on who they are :-) Best thing is I get to keep snuggling on these babies as they will be here to agist for as long as needed. Best of both worlds lol

07.01.2022 Winding down after a lovely weekend. Steve, Nicki and Jessi came to visit to work with Dynamite, Electra and baby Jasper. Some beautifully bonding moments captured by Carol Hancock and some by Nicki herself of Jessi and Jasper interacting in a safe way. I couldn't ask for more generous hearts and kinder hands to be taking this lovely family of brumbies into their home when the time is right. Dynamite needs handling and gelding and Jasper needs to grow a little more before they make the journey to their new paddocks.

06.01.2022 We are slowly getting the facilities to how they need to be. Still basic but covers the essentials.....yards extended to provide working ‘rooms’ along with feeding zones and shade: professionally built and installed stable rather than my dodgy pallet stall, float for training, round yard and trot poles.....took us a while but I feel like we are getting there!

06.01.2022 My 'keepers' from our brumby rescues: Captain from Blue Waterholes (2019) , Eleanore, mum captured Cooleman and born here (2020), and Ariana from north of Cooleman (2020). A part of the 22 who will never run free but will now always be safe......

04.01.2022 A little pic update of wee Jasper for Stephanie and his other fans :-) He is a cheeky little boy - full of fun. Has to investigate ANY visitor to his yard, runs around getting those long legs stretched and then is flat out in the sun for a snooze. As you can see, Electra is giving him all of the nutrients she has so she and Ember are both on increased feed and supplements to help them out.

02.01.2022 If wee Jasper gets any more curious, I’ll have another ‘helper’ when cleaning the yards Mumma Electra just looked around and seemed to think, ‘oh, its just the dinner lady. He’ll be fine...’

01.01.2022 And River and Mikki have their transport confirmed for a few weeks time :-) Gorgeous girls and two of the friendliest in the bunch. We have a little time for some handling until they go off to their new homes with experienced brumby owners
