06.01.2022 Please welcome our newest dance teacher, Brett Beckhurst! He will be taking our Tuesday dance technique class! All skill levels are welcome and you really should come and check out his amazing teaching style! Originally from Shepparton, Victoria, he began his training at Performance Plus Dance Center (QLD) in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Singing, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics, Hip Hop Lyrical Commercial and Circus. He went on to study at Queensland Dance School of Excellenc...e, training for the Queensland Ballet and at the Australian Dance Performance Institute under the direction of Barbra Evans, Helena Moore and Michael Edge. In 2010, he made the move to Melbourne to complete the full time Performing Arts course at Patrick Studios Australia under the direction of Todd Patrick. Brett then received a role in his first production, A Midsummers Night Dream with Opera Australia. He also had the opportunity to be a part of many TV Programs and corporate gigs around Melbourne. Brett performed in China for Asia's biggest artists including Kris Wu, Jolin Tsai, Yoga Lin and many more in a New Year’s Eve LIVE countdown show (2016/2017). He has since been travelling internationally, proactively upskilling and networking on a global scale. He performed with Gforce Dance Centre (Philippines) on a number of television shows in Manila. He performed for Jessica Mauboy, Zoe Badwi and The Royal Family in Fatai, NZ. Brett has choreographed and produced a few music videos (VEVO) with Singaporean Artist Nat Ho (If Love Comes To Call, Lorenzo) and has a continuing contract to be his choreographer for future music videos and stage performances. Brett’s strong zest for life shows through his dancing and he is always working towards bigger and better things for his career in the performing arts industry. He can’t wait to see what life has to throw at him next!
