11.01.2022 SCAM ALERT! Fake emails claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) contain a link to malicious malware. This scam may affect small to medium busin...esses who regularly lodge BAS forms with the ATO. Fake emails identified so far use the subject line ‘Your next Activity Statement is now’ These fake emails are sophisticated and use a web address that is reasonably close to the real ATO website (ato.gov.au). Email users need to be vigilant in checking the legitimacy of links in emails they receive in order to protect their personal information and devices.
