25.01.2022 Just an update to my situation up here in Charleville. We are flooded in and expect the Warego river to peak tonight up to approx 6.1m and hopefully we will be able to leave sometime tomorrow or Wednesday. All roads in and out of town are closed off and are under water. They have put the Levi gates in to stop the water flooding the main part of town. Fingers crossed we can leave tomorrow as theres not much to do in a flooded town like charleville

24.01.2022 Mooring serving. The results of galvanic corrosion. When people substitute the correct gear with dissimilar metals in the water this happens. The rope also has no chafe protection from the shackle. We have to go back and fix the rope next week.

To celebrate the fun weve had..., our good mate and diver, Adam Dodson, has reached out and offered one of his cleans as a prize for the Covid Cup!! We are super excited as it means if you have sailed in any of the races OR WILL BE SAILING THIS SUNDAY, you will be in the draw to win. Lets get as many boats on the water as we can!! 23.01.2022 Had to do a keel repair this week. The yacht had a mooring line wrap their keel in an anchorage on the way here. Took a little bit of work and sanding but came up a trick #adamthediver #hirw2019 #underwaterrepairs

19.01.2022 Next time your diver says we should change out your anodes its probably a good idea to do them! These pics are off a boat that came from the Brisbane River. Not sure how long its been in the water or since they had a diver under it but now the prop is completely stuffed and needs replacing. Anodes are sacrificial for a reason and these pics show you why.

11.01.2022 Got a call from a lovely couple late today asking for some help. They tried to thrust their boat off the dock and had no power in the thrusters. He dived over and looked and found they were clogged up. They assumed no one would be able to help til next week but they were amazed when I said Ill be there in half an hour! I took the props off, they cleaned them while I went and untangled some line from another race yacht then come back and put them on so they could leave for their trip home to Sydney. The race yacht dragged this device around the bay yesterday! They dont know how long they were dragging it for but there was about 70m of line tangled between the keel prop and rudder! Was a mess but its all good to race again today

08.01.2022 One last job for the day... go back to Manly and pick up my gear I left there earlier today, empty the duck and go home... sounds simple right up to the part where my phone dropped out my jacket pocket lucky its water resistant but Ive still put it into a bag of rice for the night and hopefully itll be ok in the morning

06.01.2022 Had a call from Rivergate Marina and Shipyard this week for an inspection on MV Aurora, leading to a possible hull clean before they leave at the end of next week. Think we are going to need a few more tanks shes only about 74m long draws about 3-4m and a beam approx 12m. 03.01.2022 Had a call to do an inspection after a light grounding this week. Not only was there prop damage there was hull damage, an inlet grate about to fall off which led to a 6 hole leak (whoever installed them drilled through the hull!) All 4 blades of 1 side bent like a pretzel

01.01.2022 Had a weird one this week! Well it was a first for me,never seen or heard of it before! A innerspring mattress wrapped around a prop of a power boat how it got there u ask? Well the owner said it was floating around for a couple of weeks then it wasnt and when I started the boat it soon stopped and by stop it was very fast! Took a lot of cutting and pulling but all came off ... eventually
