25.01.2022 The Day at the Burgh organising group met today. There is still much to finalise but we can confirm the event will start on Friday evening go through Saturday and culminate on Sunday. It will be an activity packed weekend for people of all ages.

23.01.2022 More details on the events happening on Saturday 14th November.

21.01.2022 So riddles have been proving popular at this time of staying home. So here is a special A day at The Burgh one: In November 2019 200 people saw Mounted trooper Mulholland ride a horse down Edith Street and arrest Soxy for trying to steal 6 sheep. 195 of these people did not have a pet with them. Everyone else had one dog each with them. One dog watched from the balcony of the Edithburgh Hotel. Two birds were on the roof of the museum. How many animals were on the ground in Edith Street? Feel free to share if you like.

20.01.2022 I was planning an overseas holiday this year ...but not now. Are you the same ...plans all up in the air but you are on the ground? But one thing you could plan is to visit our Yorke Peninsula .....come for the Day at the Burgh weekend and stay longer...spend time at the beach, go fishing, visit Innes National Park or just enjoy our tranquil part of the world.

19.01.2022 Let's look forward to better times. Do you have favourite Day at the Burgh photos that you can upload?Let's look forward to better times. Do you have favourite Day at the Burgh photos that you can upload?

17.01.2022 The schedule for this year is starting to come together. Friday evening will be a concert at the football club, Saturday is history day which will be packed with activities and the art show opening in the afternoon and Sunday will be full of food, wine and music. Are you coming to join us for the weekend of 13, 14 and 15th November?

11.01.2022 As someone who is normally promoting the region it is painful for us to say this but please stay away from the Yorke Peninsula this Easter. We will welcome everyone back with open arms later in the year but for now there are three good reasons to ask you to stay away: 1. Yorke Peninsula has the second oldest population in the state. 2. If we don't travel the virus can't travel either.... 3. Less cars on the road mean less accidents which will help lessen the pressure on hospital beds.

10.01.2022 Thought maybe now was a good time for memories from previous years. How is everyone going with the current social distancing.

08.01.2022 What are your memories of Day at the Burgh 2019? For me it will always be the contrast between the happy relaxed atmosphere of the weekend and the fire only a few days later, then the resilience of the community shining through

06.01.2022 Due to Covid19 A Day At The Burgh will be taking a break this year. However to slightly misquote the two men below..."We will be back and we will return". So whilst we sadly won't be having a street festival in November please keep checking this page for any updates on our future plans. Stay safe and let's keep moving towards the time when we can get back to more normality.

02.01.2022 Update from Edithburgh. Slowly emerging from lockdown. How were all the visitors on the long weekend? Seemed like Easter any other year.

02.01.2022 So after the fire and covid19 restrictions the organisers of Day at the Burgh are feeling a lot less energetic than previous years. Having made the decision to cancel this year's event they now wonder if a mini event would be possible. What do you think? If you want some sort of downsized event to go ahead encouragement is needed.
