09.01.2022 This week is also National Recycling Week, an initiative of Planet Ark. The theme is ‘Recovery’ which is something we can all unite behind with the recovery of our economy, businesses, social activity and waste. Last year, on average, each Australian generated over 500 kilograms of household waste, which means reducing waste and recycling and reusing more important than ever before. At Adbri, we have several initiatives in place to contribute to the circular economy. We use recycled industrial by-products as raw materials in our grey bricks and blocks and in Townsville, we use recycled glass in some product mix designs. Reusing what would otherwise be waste saves thousands of tonnes per year going to landfill.

08.01.2022 12 months ago our first ever solar array on the roof of our Townsville factory was turned on. This investment allows us to harness the sun's natural energy, reducing our reliance on the grid and traditional fossil fuels. This project has been an environmental success and led the investment in green energy solar systems in four other factories ensuring Adbri Masonry has an even bigger impact in contributing to a sustainable future.

08.01.2022 James from Sydney built the retaining wall in his front yard using Wallstone Grande blocks in Bondi Blend to create a natural sandstone look. With a concrete footing, double capping and some non standard corners, he's managed to DIY a professional looking job. In fact, he liked the look of the blocks so much he even cut the face profiles off and clad the original clay brick letterbox to incorporate it in the wall. Great work James!

In the front yard they levelled out the slope with Windsor Stone garden beds and replaced the old lawn with Empire Zoysia turf. Club Hotel Kaniva in rural Victoria was after an upgrade to their beer garden (an essential part of any Aussie pub).
