Therefore, this time of year is a great time to have your last look at the constellation Scorpius as it slowly gets lower on the western horizon. Just 10-minutes outside each week will keep your constellation identification skills up to standard. You'll also see the planets Jupiter and Saturn towards your zenith.

This discovery of Sirius B, affectionately known as "the Pup", proved an earlier hypotheses by Friedrich Bessel in 1844, that Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky with an apparent magnitude of 1.46, had an unseen companion disturbing its motion.
