Kusal Perera: glue & bind shoulder Danushka Gunathilaka: replace 2 x handles & full sand Banuka Rajapaksha: Glue & bind shoulder Picked the bats up on Friday night & return them on Saturday ready for todays game All the guys were wonderful I hope they all get runs, but Australia win!!

One was not worth doing anything too, but the GC Master Scoop wasnt in to bad a condition.... So It was stripped back, handle replaced, scoop sanded & re-painted, new stickers sourced etc. It turns out that this mate of his is currently recovering from a brain tumour and he wanted to give him something to cheer him up So I am pretty confident when they both see the finished product that they will be pretty happy. P.S the article attached about the origins of the scoop is worth a read.

21.01.2022 Another interesting one today I had a Crawford The Exsellier, Specially Selected For Joe Darling bat come in, it belonged to the owners father-in-law He had done some research into its history and its approximately 100 years old (found wedged in the bottom of a shelf in the shed and discovered after the death of its owner)... Joe Darling was born in South Australia in 1870 and was a left handed batsman who played 34 Test matches between 1894 and 1905 mostly as an opening batsman, he was also the first batsman to make 3 centuries & make 500 runs in a test series ( I can see why he got his name on a bat ) He went on to captain Australia on the tour of England in 1899, playing 35 games for 16 wins, 16 losses & 3 losses among many other achievements I my opinion for a bat that is 100 years old, its in pretty good condition. I strung the handle & put on a new grip (not original I know) but the owner wanted it cleaned up as well as it could be, so it can be put on display in the family house. A nice family heirloom!!

17.01.2022 What would you do if you made 315 with your favourite bat and it has started to fall apart ?? Tom Rankine came in and asked for me to replicate his bat with a very unusual shape. We went through the clefts I have in stock until he liked the ping sound of mallet on wood and then I spent the afternoon working away ... 3.5 hours later he picked it up and took it home Hope this one has a higher score in it Tom
