24.01.2022 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's that time if the year again and we wish our patients, referrers and followers a happy holiday season, a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year. We thank all of the patients and referrers that have made 2019 go well for our practice and we look forward to 2020 and with some new projects.... Our doors are open again on the 6th of January and appointments are available for January.

21.01.2022 A recent smile transformation by Dr Sravan (@dr.sravan.pros). Not all cosmetic rehabilitation require crowns and veeners. This lady required her teeth to be removed so we made removable dentures fitted by the referring dentist at the time of extractions. All dental procedures carries risk so it is important to seek professional advice to see if this process is suitable for you.

20.01.2022 Crown Around a Denture This is an example of crown fabricated to fit around an existing partial upper denture. The tooth helps hold his denture and he wanted a durable improvement to it's appearance. This process is simplified due to the use of an intra-oral scanner. This meant that our patient was likely to get a crown that would fit around his existing denture and he didn't need any impressions (which was a bonus as he had a very severe gag reflex)... Only minimal adjustments were required at the time of fitting. If we try this with an analogue workflow (impressions etc), it is usually more labour intensive at insert and has a greater risk of needing denture remake. All dental work carries risks and it is best to speak to your dental professional about your specific circumstances including your suitability for treatments presented.

15.01.2022 Dentistry has now come under Level 1 restrictions in South Australia. https://www.facebook.com/704797476317249/posts/1844375732359412/

10.01.2022 Did you know that thumb sucking habit can have long-term impacts on craniofacial development? It's important to monitor this and eventually discourage them from sucking their thumb. Sometimes this habit starts really early in life! This ultrasound shows that children can exhibit this habit in-utero. This example was kindly modelled by the unborn second child of @dr.sravan.pros, and sibling to his daughter!

08.01.2022 Service Provision Update 28/03/2020 To our valued referrers and patients. We encourage everyone who does not need to leave home to stay at home to limit the risk of spreading the coronovirus/COVID-19 throughout the community. Dental practices are now required to adopt Level 3 restrictions as set out by the ADA and AHPPC. We will unfortunately suspend most routine dental and specialist care until restrictions are lifted. No clinical dental care will be provided at our practice... without an appointment. The restrictions still allow for provision of some emergency dental services in limited circumstances. If you are an existing patient and require emergency dental services, please phone 08 8212 5294 and we can guide you as to how to proceed. Lastly we thank all our our referrers and patients who put their trust in us to look after you and your patients. We hope everyone looks after themselves and stays safe and well during this difficult period, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community in different and more innovative ways. As such, we will be looking at providing remote consultations for patients (new and existing) and remote continuing education for dental practitioners. We will update everyone as this occurs.

08.01.2022 This young lady saw Dr Sravan to strengthen two weakened teeth and to improve her smile. This result was achieved with only a porcelain veneer and two porcelain crowns. These not only look great but will further strengthen the weakened teeth that was broken down and discoloured through trauma and root canal treatment.... Needless to say we were all very pleased with the transformation!

06.01.2022 #Repost @dr.sravan.pros Adelaide CAD - Centre for Advanced Dentistry I have put up a case where we did do a shortened protocol for fabrication of an upper denture due to the distance travelled. Due to circumstances, she was unable to return for denture try-in and issue until much later. Depending on logistics with the laboratory, it may be possible to do a try-in then issue with a short turnaround if no major tooth setup alterations were required (and asking the ...lab). The focus here however is what do we do at the time of issue? My routine involves checking the same variables at the time of try-in including: - Fit - Aesthetics - Retention - Support Depending on what (if any) alterations are required at issue, often they can be done chairside or in more exceptional cases, may need to go back to the lab for alterations. Disclaimer: This is protocol is not suitable for inexperienced clinicians, and requires a lot of clinical judgement and experience. Not all patients are suitable for this type of shortened protocol. If you enjoy this content, please like and comment, and share with other dental colleagues who might find this useful! Thank you! 06.01.2022 Service Provision Update 27/04/2020 @dr.sravan.pros @adelaide.cad To our valued referrers and patients. We continue to encourage everyone who does not need to leave home to stay at home to limit the risk of spreading the coronovirus/COVID-19 throughout the community.... On some more positive news, thanks to the significant drop in new infection and reduced incidence of community transmissions, dental practices have been allowed to adopt Level 2 restrictions today as set out by the ADA and AHPPC. We will be able to commence more types of routine dentistry with additional precautions in place. For our valued referrers, this means we are able to provide in-person consultations again. Please contact our rooms at 08 8212 5294 and we can assist you or your patients. If you had appointments that were postponed, you may contact us to see if we are able to reschedule your procedure/s under Level 2 restrictions. Please be assured we will aim to contact all eligible patients for appointments over the next few weeks. Dr Sravan and the team at AdelaideCAD once again look forward serving our SA dental community! #adelaide #southaustralia #dentist #dentista #dentures #adelaidedentist #prosthodontist #prosthodontic #prosthodontics #dentalspecialist #denturespecialist #adelaideprosthodontist #wereback

03.01.2022 #Repost @dr.sravan.pros Adelaide CAD - Centre for Advanced Dentistry Implant Overdentures... This is one of my favourite treatment modalities. When an excellent denture is still not satisfactory in terms of retention and function to a patient, it is possible to improve the situation by placing 2 or more implants and attachments which help hold the denture in place. It is one of the most rewarding treatments to provide to an edentulous mandible and most patients report an improvement in their quality of life. This treatment modality has a far lower up-front cost compared to full arch implant fixed prostheses (bridges). There is however more maintenance involved (compared to full arch implant bridges) after treatment is completed. There is often more relines of the denture after treatment. Tissues continue to resorb however the implants stay in a static position. Also the attachments need to be replaced regularly. Regular clinical and radiographic assessment of the implants and attachments is also important in order to address issues before they become catastrophic. This leads to additional clinic time and costs for the patient. This level of maintenance is predictable and expected, hence your patient should know all the likely maintenance (incl. likely costs) and possible complications of any treatment provided before beginning them. Every treatment plan is individual and results vary from person to persion. A consultation with your dental practitioner will help you regarding what to expect. @ Adelaide CAD - Centre for Advanced Dentistry
