22.01.2022 Yesterday was a key moment in the #waldorfeducation movement. On April 23rd, 1919 #emilmolt asked #rudolfsteiner for his help and guidance to start a school f...or his workers children. It was on April 23, 1919, after a lecture Steiner gave to the factory workers on the 3-fold social order that Molt asked Steiner to take on the planning & leadership of the new school. Molt later said he considered this the true birth date of the school. Steiner, as we know, enthusiastically accepted the task. "In the end, the Waldorf School movement is connected to the threefold movement. Said Rudolf Steiner. Its pedagogy emphasizes the role of imagination in learning, striving to integrate holistically the intellectual, practical, & artistic development of the students. Steiners division of child development into three major stages is reflected in the schools approach to early childhood education, which focuses on practical, hands-on activities & creative play; to elementary education, which focuses on developing artistic expression and social capacities; and to secondary education, which focuses on developing critical reasoning and empathic understanding. The overarching goal is to develop free, morally responsible, & integrated individuals equipped with a high degree of social competence. #waldorf100 #waldorfschools #steinercommunity #waldorfhistory #wholehumanbeing #livingeducation #preservingchildhood #educationasart #waldorfstuttgart @awsna_waldorf @waldorf_100

10.01.2022 On Thursday, 29 November (week 7), from 3.30pm to 7pm we will be holding our Twilight Market around the lawns of the Eurythmy Room. This market was originally ...created by our dear friend, and former parent and colleague, Tamsin Cowling (now deceased) when she was employed at the school in a marketing role. We would like to acknowldege the legacy of her inspiration and this enduring gift she gave to the school. This wonderful community event gives everyone an opportunity to purchase beautiful hand-crafted goods for the festive season, as well as enjoy delicious food and refreshments, and appreciate student and community entertainment in the ambience of the Eurythmy Room lawns. If you are interested in having a stall, application form available at the Front Office. Site fees remain at $20. (Students are eligible for free sites, but still need to complete an application form.) Please complete and return to the Front Office by the end of November. Please remember: the emphasis is on homemade handcrafts and produce. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please pass on my details. If you are interested in playing music or performing, please contact Sonya Mellor at school. Students and adults are all welcome to participate to help create a wonderful atmosphere and another opportunity to perform! If you are able to distribute flyers in your area, please collect from the Front Office. We would love to see as many people there as possible. Also, this is another great opportunity of showcasing our school and encouraging the general public to attend. 09.01.2022 The fourth light of Advent Is the light of Human Kindness, The light of Love, the light of thought, To give and understand.... In the fourth week of Advent we look out with wonder and love to all of humanity. We acknowledge the coming together of the three other realms of nature - earth and mineral, life and plant, soul and animal. These three realms surround and support our foundations allowing the strength, beauty and heart of each individual human spirit to ignite. This week we light four candles and add gifts from the human and angelic world to our advent table. Special personal or handmade gifts, a star, an angel, the crib for baby Jesus. As we add our gifts, we pause for a moment, connect to our heart and send a loving glow to all our fellow striving human friends.

04.01.2022 Lisa Romero is giving a talk at TGS on Monday September 3rd, 7-8.45pm. Her talk, Social Understanding, Gender & Sexuality follows her work in school that day with Stream Classes 5-7. The lecture at Trinity Gardens is a great opportunity to be introduced to this. Attendance is by cash donation ($10/ family or $5 concession), all funds to speaker and to support the Y project. https://www.innerworkpath.com/about-us/ Registration for talks is appreciated, please email
