22.01.2022 We spend time in prayer with Karen, Janine, Jen, Maria, and others sharing their hearts in prayer.

15.01.2022 Roderick brings God's message for us today. How many of you have stuff stored in your home that is there for a rainy day? Have you found that the stuff you have seems to expand to fill the space available? Have you found that you have run out of space for new stuff? As we start this advent period there is this thought of making room that is on my mind.... There was no room for Mary and Joseph in the inn . . . Christmas is always a busy time. So what does it mean to make room for Jesus in our lives? Has Jesus been crowded out at Christmas? Today we look at the story of Zacharias in the Gospel of Luke. He ties this story of the expectation of the birth of John the Baptist as a forerunner of the birth of Jesus. Luke places this story in time as the period of the rule of Herod, but records that God was still at work in his people.

13.01.2022 Jacky reads our scripture reading for today from Luke 1:5-25 NLT "5 When Herod was king of Judea, there was a Jewish priest named Zechariah. He was a member of the priestly order of Abijah, and his wife, Elizabeth, was also from the priestly line of Aaron. 6 Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God’s eyes, careful to obey all of the Lord’s commandments and regulations. 7 They had no children because Elizabeth was unable to conceive, and they were both very old.... 8 One day Zechariah was serving God in the Temple, for his order was on duty that week. 9 As was the custom of the priests, he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense. 10 While the incense was being burned, a great crowd stood outside, praying. 11 While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. 12 Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. 13 But the angel said, Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John. 14 You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, 15 for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.[a] 16 And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. 17 He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children,[b] and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly. 18 Zechariah said to the angel, How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years. 19 Then the angel said, I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! 20 But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time. 21 Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah to come out of the sanctuary, wondering why he was taking so long. 22 When he finally did come out, he couldn’t speak to them. Then they realized from his gestures and his silence that he must have seen a vision in the sanctuary. 23 When Zechariah’s week of service in the Temple was over, he returned home. 24 Soon afterward his wife, Elizabeth, became pregnant and went into seclusion for five months. 25 How kind the Lord is! she exclaimed. He has taken away my disgrace of having no children.

08.01.2022 We watch a movie clip of Jesus preaching the Beatitudes, the Sermon on the Mount, then Warren then brings God’s word for us today, exploring God's Blessings. This message will be available in the video of our meeting to be posted later today. Some of the points shared in Warren's message were- The word "Blessing" is used more than 600 times in the Bible and is deeply connected with the Jewish people.... God created people in His image and blessed them. Our origins began with blessings." A blessing from God empowers us to do what is not in our natural abilities. The blessings we give to each other are an expression of our own blessings. We are blessed with the character of Jesus through the Holy Spirit working in and through us. To be blessed, and a blessing to others, hinges on our relationship with God and the empowering of the Holy Spirit. See more

06.01.2022 Roderick invites Jeremy to come to the front and prays for his leadership of the songsters who will now sing for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. The will now sing "I will think of Him." by Joy Webb.

04.01.2022 Zacharias and Elizabeth were childless and "advanced in years" and there seemed no longer any hope of starting a family. God often does his work when human ability and possibility seem unable to find a solution. Are you making room for God’s assurances in your life? Zacharias blessing was a big promise that had eternal implications, but his doubt was a problem!... In Luke’s story we then hear about the naming of the child as John by Zacharias, and this confirmation by Zacharias releases his tongue and he was able to speak again with confidence and thankfulness to God for his blessing of a son. Luke 1: 67-79 Zechariah’s Prophecy 67 Then his father, Zechariah, was filled with the Holy Spirit and gave this prophecy: 68 Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and redeemed his people. 69 He has sent us a mighty Savior[h] from the royal line of his servant David, 70 just as he promised through his holy prophets long ago. 71 Now we will be saved from our enemies and from all who hate us. 72 He has been merciful to our ancestors by remembering his sacred covenant 73 the covenant he swore with an oath to our ancestor Abraham. 74 We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear, 75 in holiness and righteousness for as long as we live. 76 And you, my little son, will be called the prophet of the Most High, because you will prepare the way for the Lord. 77 You will tell his people how to find salvation through forgiveness of their sins. 78 Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,[i] 79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace. Roderick prays that we today rise up and be the people You Lord God have called us to be, in Your name, because you sent your son Jesus to be the light of the world. May we each spread your light this Christmas and be on fire for you! Amen.
