15.01.2022 Debbie Reynolds. Need we say more? She was just 19 years old when she was cast alongside Gene Kelly and Donald OConnor in this classic Hollywood musical. She had no prior dance training, learning the choreography in just three months and when it almost broke her she was comforted by none other than Fred Astaire who told her Thats what its like to learn to dance. If youre not sweating, youre not doing it right. https://youtu.be/GB2yiIoEtXw

14.01.2022 The month of May for us swing dancers is the month of Frankie! Frankie Manning was a huge ambassador for sharing and teaching the Lindy Hop worldwide. An amazing dancer and choreographer, he toured with the Whiteys Lindy Hoppers through the 1930s-40s. His passion and love for dance was the driving force that helped to revive the Lindy Hop from the 1980s - and how we know and enjoy it today! The 26th of May is World Lindy Hop day in honour of Frankies birthday - stay tune...d for some fun events coming up that we can all participate in and share together (from home!) Here is a snippet of one of the earliest clips of Frankie dancing at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, NYC. https://youtu.be/ZQIWFOU-bp4
