22.01.2022 Recently a group of young South Australian rowers were given the opportunity to join their Western Australian counterparts on Champion Lakes for a regatta aimed at developing young talent. Trials were offered to all members of our School Winter Program and as a result a number of our junior members were given a taste of what rowing outside of school can really offer. Some of them can be seen pictured here. AUBC would like to offer a big thank you to Rowing South Australia for the part they played in making this happen.

21.01.2022 What a weekend at second grade state champs hosted by Berri Rowing Club!!! AUBC came away with 5/6 of the Women’s State Champs Titles, with a solid second place in the women’s single. We retained three of these from last year and gained the title in the coxed four and double! The men’s squad raced a great race in the second grade men’s eight to take the title home.... Our Master’s men had a great weekend won races in the double, coxed four, quad and the eight. The open women also had a great hit out against strong opposition, coming away with the wins in the double, quad, and eight! AUBC would like to thank @rowingsa Berri Rowing Club, and all of the volunteers and officials for hosting a fantastic regatta.

18.01.2022 All terrain every day. Blessed with a pilgrimage from former captain Ned Kinear. Currently training to be a urologist in Melbourne (dont hold it against him) he took the time to prove hes still capable of taming the iron steed. Always great to hear from members that havent been in touch for a while, if youre one of them dont hesitate to do the same!

Notable performances include the OPEN MENS QUAD and a CLEAN SWEEP of the womens Under 21 events. Our masters men also took home four state titles. Also worth mentioning is the Open Womens Eight. 07.01.2022 Huge thank you to @bunnings for letting us host a sausage sizzle today. Does it get more Australian than a Bunnings barbecue on the Aus day weekend? Come join us for a snag. @ Bunnings Mile End

07.01.2022 On Sunday, we hosted former AUBC rower David McLeod as guest speaker at our fundraising luncheon. David rowed for AUBC in the 1970s as a lightweight while studying law at the University of Adelaide. After graduating, he served overseas before gaining worldwide acclaim as the lawyer for David Hicks, the Australian who was charged with terrorism offences overseas in the wake of 9/11 and detained in Cuba. David shared his story of how he went from a small time Adelaide law graduate to becoming arguably one of the most hated people in America as he fought for several years to bring David home. It was a chance for old rowers and friends to catch up and a chance for new generations of oarsmen and oarswomen to hear from some of our more seasoned veterans. Where will your road take you? @ Adelaide University Boat Club
