23.01.2022 Prospective Catering Teams: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Thank you for considering helping the amazing BlazeAid Angels at the Adelong Showground through cooking their evening meal on your selected date. Here is the process:... 1. Select an available date & place your booking. Please provide a contact name & mobile number for the team leader, and in the notes let us know what you plan to cook (if you dont know yet, that is fine, just let us know when you can). Note that you will need to plan a main meal AND a dessert. 2. 2+ days out from your selected date, call or drop in to see the Adelong Camp Coordinator Chris Male: * Confirm your planned menu & she will approve for you to collect the required meat from Fulla Fresh Meats on the BlazeAid account. If you do not get her confirmation, you will not get the meat. *Get an indication from Chris of the number of people you will be catering for. * Check out the Pantry for non-perishables that have been donated that you can use in your planned menu (eg flour, rice, kidney beans, spaghetti, frozen veggies) & set them aside. *Check out the kitchen for cooking equipment so you know what you have to work with. 3. Gather your other required supplies from local supermarkets Foodworks Adelong or IGA Batlow where possible, to support our communitys economy. 4. 9am on your selected date, call Chris Male 0418 745 994 to confirm final numbers. 5. From 3pm (or later, depending on your menu), arrive at BlazeAid Camp with your team & prepare your meal for service. 6. Service (Bain Marie available) from 6:30pm sharp. Bread & butter should be served with the meal as well. 7. Stay, eat & chat with the Volunteers, ensuring all are well fed. 8. Assist with clean up.

20.01.2022 It is with regret, but a little relief, that we advise catering for the BlazeAid camp at Adelong will not be required for the forseeable future. Adelong BlazeAid camp remains OPEN and is still supporting the recovery of our farmers. However due to the risk of COVID-19 spread, they are limiting contact with outside groups and will self-cater from Friday 20th March. A very big thank you to all those groups who have committed themselves previously and for future dates. These fut...ure dates will now be cancelled, but hopefully when this crisis abates, you will be available to help your community again. Stay safe and well, take care of yourselves, your family and your elderly neighbours. Thank you BlazeAid for not abandoning our farmers in need - hats off to you!

18.01.2022 After many meetings over the phone. I spoke to Chris at Blaze aid today. Blaze aid will be staying in Adelong continuing their great work. All who have booked dates to cater for them if you are still able to do this they would appreciate this. If you feel you cant forfill your booking please let us know. Catering will only be around the 30 to 35 numbers. They are limiting people coming into camp. Thanks everyone for your help.

18.01.2022 A very big thank you to our amazing little crew that completely reorganised the pantry at the Adelong BlazeAid Camp. There is still so much to unpack but we have a better handle on it now Farmers, this is here for you! There are heaps of everyday items that have been donated from far and wide - from tea and toiletries to sunscreen and muesli bars. Toothpaste, baby food, nappies and all sorts of things! Dont be shy Catering volunteers, please have a look at the SHELVING ...in the pantry for items you can use in your planned meals. There are heaps of tinned tomatoes, kidney beans (chilli con carne), powdered and long life milk among other things; Come and check out the Pantry and some of the suggested meal options in the kitchen if youre stuck for ideas Thank you to Jody & John, Anna, Bettina, Hannah & Tracey. Great job

17.01.2022 We wanted to say a very big thank you to all of those groups who have contributed their time, cooking efforts and smiles to supporting the BlazeAid team since their arrival! Your efforts are very much appreciated, and from all reports theyve been loving your food!! We are now starting to fill up the March calendar and invite you all to share amongst your networks and hopefully share the load. Friday 6th March, and Spooky Friday 13th March are currently looking for teams, and then there are plenty of dates available throughout the rest of March. Thanks in advance!

16.01.2022 We really appreciate all those groups and individuals who have committed their time over the last 2 months! BlazeAid has literally been fuelled by your generosity. Now that the Bushfires are less in the media, the volume of fencing volunteers is reducing and the high-volume demand for catering has eased - but we still have great volunteers at the Adelong camp and we still need your help to feed them. PLEASE, if you and some friends, or a community group you are involved with ...have some time free, book a date and help us give back to the wonderful BlazeAid Angels of Adelong! 02.01.2022 As of the 1st of July Blazeaid will be without a kitchen coordinator. So once again we are after groups to help with dinner of a night. We will be catering for about 20 people. If you would like to do a crockpot ect at home then drop off to them or cook at the ground please contact us. Blazeaid have been doing a wonderful job so far and still have a lot more work to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
