18.01.2022 Advanced Computer Care has recently earned APC's "Select Partner" status, so talk to us about your IT equipment power and cooing requirements, and we'll help you make the right choices to protect your investment.

18.01.2022 This weekend past saw us migrate a customer from their old "unsupported" Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 to the latest Microsoft Server 2012 Essentials using the full Office365 suite for email and productivity applications. The process went relatively smoothly; the only issues being the two brand-new Lenovo laptops that the customer purchased that required multiple updates to be applied before they were able to join their network and a Multi Function Printer that refuses to accept scanned documents, which has been passed back to that vendor for resolution. If you have your own aging server (with or without your own email engine) and want to move to a supported system, contact us and we'll assess your requirements and work with you to get you the best fit for your needs.

08.01.2022 Just received an automated message from the number (02) 7298 1249, saying it was from Telstra and that they were going to disconnect my internet and to press 1 to connect to the consultant or press 2 to proceed with the disconnect. I just pressed the "disconnect" button to terminate the call & I will take my chances with the internet connection.... Sounds way too much like a yet another scam to me. Stay safe out there people, as this is only going to get more frequent.

08.01.2022 It was somewhat disturbing to read that Apple products have been the latest target of ransomware attacks, according to MacRumours and as reported in this morning's CRN publication. The attacks are alleged to be the result of stolen iCloud credentials and initiating the "Find My iPhone" remote lock feature, with the owners of the locked devices subsequently receiving payment demands asking for US$50 in bitcoin to unlock the devices. The article does not state that any devices in Australia have been the target, at least not yet. Although there are no suggestions that the Apple servers themselves have been the source of the leak of account information, it is highly recommended that owners of Apple devices that take advantage of iCloud services change their Apple ID passwords.

07.01.2022 A note to all that are still running Office 2007 on their computers. Microsoft has reminded all that Office 2007 reaches "End of Life" on October 10, 2017 and after this there will be no technical support, no bug fixes, and even more importantly, no security fixes. Consider moving to the current Office product suite or to Office 365 to avoid being exposed. Contact your I.T. provider for assistance, or if you don't have one, we at Advanced Computer Care are happy to assist.
