25.01.2022 It’s been a busy week with all of these orphan joeys and two more of them that came in over the last 48hours , thanks for checking pouches and giving these guys the best chance at life . Remember to keep them in a quiet place and do not feed them anything until you have spoken to a carer . There is 3 Western grey joeys and one orphan red kangaroo Joey in this basket of cuteness 9474 9055 Wildlife WildCare helpline #As always thanks for caring #gg wildlife rescue #abcmyphoto #4allwildlife #seewesternaustralia @ GG Wildlife Rescue Inc

25.01.2022 So I got a call from a bloke the other day I was in the middle of nowhere, he had found a couple of Currawong chicks there on the floor it was 43 and it was windy as anything and the nest was right next to them destroyed on the ground . He asked me what he could feed them as the closest Wildlife Carer was over 1000 km away he had them since that morning it was now about 530 . I asked him a few questions, the location could they be safely put back? He thought you couldn’t re...turn birds as their parents won’t accept them. He made them a little nest out of straw so I asked him to make something a little bit more natural for them & first thing in the morning to hang it up as high as he could in a tree as close to where he found them.stand back from a distance and see if the parents come down. He hung them up in a nice shady spot away from predators on the ground stood back and down came the parents . Check out these amazing photos just shows you what a little bit of education and calling the right people can do for our wildlife. Returning birds immediately if not injured is the best thing we can do, back with their parents and as you can see from there these photos it is possible.. Some people try to raise birds themselves and they end up dying thru lack of care , if you truly love an animal and want what’s best , then this is what you need to do -every time . 1 - catch animal take quick photo for identification and place in quiet secure box away from noise. 2- call your local wildlife carer ..if you can’t find their number then call a local vet for a number , they will have one or put you into someone else who doess . 3- do not feed it or give it anything until you have spoken to Someone who is a experienced with the species and care of them -NOTHING At All ..you could be killing it with this action . 4- once identified and given advice , please follow it 5- DON’T - take photos with the family DON’T - think you can raise it with out professional advice DON’T think you are rescuing it when you haven’t got it the right help , You haven’t, you have just prolonged it’s suffering . Animals are complex like us and need different medications , diets and husbandry . Please call a registered wildlife carer. See more

24.01.2022 This gorgeous girl was rescued after a collision with a car , she had her injured leg stitched up @sanfordvet and after some rehab where she received pain relief and antibiotics every day she is now back where she belongs . So long you cranky girl Thanks for the memories of escaping your bites while avoiding your beak every morning at medication time . The Red tail black cockatoo is a west Australian beauty . They have lack of habitat due to land clearing. If you find one of these please call WildCare helpline 9474 9055 immediately to ensure they receive the best care for eventual release #wildliferescue #rescuerehabrelease #4allwildlife #gorgeousgirl #birds #cockatoo #youlittlebeauty

21.01.2022 The media keeps saying there have been no lives lost in the Perth hills fires so far ..no human lives yes The thought of the terror those animals are going through right now as they flee their homes is undeniably heartbreaking, ecosystems and nesting sites destroyed. Endangered wildlife that may not recover. We must work together to make life for the ones that survive a little bit easier . Please leave water bowls out for creatures if your close to the area and be aware tha...t not all creatures will die in the fire , lots will Be injured and need help. Do not do any black walks until authorities have made it safe to do so & please more that than ever , watch for our displaced wildlife.. Wildlife WildCare helpline 9474 9055 See more

19.01.2022 it’s Bird season Spring information... please share to anyone of interest .. Had a few fledglings **rescued** in the last few days .. Please leave them alone unless in danger and remove pets and children until parents are reunited and chicks are safe up the tree. If chicks are still nestlings and nest destroyed, use hanging basket and place old nest in it . Mum will eventually start to feed again. Old wives tale about the mother never returning with human smell. For any local advice please call 0401272608 @ggwildliferescue or 9474 9055 WA wide .. If the bird is injured take to local vet and they will call registered carers . Thanks for caring

18.01.2022 Little orphan red kangaroo Joey who came in on the weekend ..a small 1.9kg he has been very dehydrated and has the runs as well . We have finally got him hydrated and offering him milk formula . Slowly he is getting there . Please take wildlife immediately to a licenced carer , your actions make life so much easier for them if they are the right ones. It is now an offence to keep australian native fauna for longer than 72hpurs #dotherightthing #wildcarehelpline94749055 As always thanks for caring

18.01.2022 Just got in from a late night looking for a severely injured kangaroo , she started her night with her Joey from last year and her littlest Joey in the pouch and then the accident happened . Her large joey was hit by a car and left in the middle of the road , she went to stand by her Joey but she wouldn’t or couldn’t get up , she too was then hit by a speeding car . Lucky a motorist stopped and called for help, he dragged the dead one off the road while her mum who was criti...cally injured stumbled along the road ejecting the little pouch Joey right in front of him. For him we are thankful he wanted to help & he did . He picked up the Joey and placed it in a safe area while waiting for assistance . The little Joey was picked up and taken to vet with suspected injuries ...sadly he was euthanised as the impact broke his little back , mum bounced off needing assistance . The man who was still waiting left the drop point for the mother kangaroo and sent it to me . Off I went searching for her only to locate her in a tragic way bleeding from some terrible wounds. I humanly euthanised her and gave her peace . In one night , in a brief moment of someone going too fast in a known kangaroo area , 3 lives were lost,,, Please slow down , be aware we share the roads and outback with others ..especially at dusk .. Sad part of my work but a necessity As always thanks for caring, Wildlife Rescue hotline 9474 9055 . At least they are in no more pain and at rainbow bridge now ..

16.01.2022 You got to be echiding me .. Late night visitor ..a gorgeous echidna It’s echidna breeding time and these fellas are out and about at the moment. If your lucky enough and happen to have one in your backyard, please bring domestic pets inside and allow it to head on its way at its own pace . They are not dangerous unless you try to pick one as the spines do hurt . If you have to move them please don’t move them too far from where they are found as they are very territorial.... One of only two monotremes , an egg laying mammal they are so unique and one of my favourites See more

13.01.2022 Releasing creatures I have cared for is the best part of rescue ..#rehabilitation #animalsincare #wildlife #protectedspecies #kingfisher

13.01.2022 It’s reptile season ... Relocating venomous snakes from people’s houses it’s so much easier if you keep an eye on it from a distance. Snakes arnt out to get us they’re just doing their thing in the ecosystem to keep it balanced. don’t try to catch it ,don’t try to kill it and you’re gonna be okay. Call a licensed Reptile relocater to do the job for you and put it back in the bush where it belongs. As always thanks for caring wildcare hotline 9474 9055
