16.01.2022 FESTIVAL ANOUNCMENT -COVID-19 Dear Festival supporter, In light of the current situation regarding public events and COVID- 19 The Adventure Travel Film Festival will be postponed. ... I have been watching the development of Covid 19 closely over the last few weeks. While WA currently is not seeing large numbers of effected people, the situation is escalating every day. I have therefore decided to be proactive and postpone The Adventure Travel Film Festival. While the festival is far from a large gathering, I believe that in the current climate it would be irresponsible to proceed. I would like to thank all of you for your amazing support of the festival. I will revisit the festival later in the year when more certainty of the situation arises. Once again thank you for your support of Adventure Travel Film Festival Regards Alex

14.01.2022 Ok just a little update, I am looking to remount Adventure Travel Film Festival for the Queens Birthday Long week end 26,27 and 28 September Obviously this will be subject to easing of the current social distancing laws.

12.01.2022 As the world is pretty much shutting down, and so many events are being forced to cancel (I've had two film festivals which I am supposed to participate in canc...elled in the past 24 hours) .... I believe it's important for us all to begin thinking creatively in these times. To continue to live, to share, to love and to interact. To offer alternatives, and not just relegate ourselves to mindless hours of binge-watching netflix due to enforced or voluntary periods of self-isolation or "social distancing". All this talk of "closing borders" scares me. Not just for myself, but mainly for the worlds' most vulnerable people, particularly those that are forced to seek refuge and asylum. Even though perhaps our own little lives will pause slightly - wars, famine, oppression, disease and hunger will not. We must continue to understand that we live in a GLOBAL WORLD, we are all connected. If you are looking for alternative ways to spend any "down time" spent at home, I would like to offer an alternative - all of my films are available to watch ONLINE FREELY via my website, and they cover human rights and environmental issues from around the world, as well as a number of short films celebrating music(ians) from around the world. To remind us that we are all linked, we're all in this together. http://david-fedele.com/films Feel free to share. See more

01.01.2022 Walking for Gena Genna, the Ethiopian Christmas takes place on the night of the 6th of January. For the Christians in this country, this is an important moment of bliss. During the weeks running up to that particular night, pilgrims from all corners of the country, start on a journey that will take them to a place where the celebration is the most grandiose: Lalibela, the Ethiopian Jerusalem. Two Belgians, Frédéric and Olivier, set out from the Northern part of the Simien ...mountains on a 23 day walk and become privileged witnesses of this walk of faith. Their march takes them through stunning landscapes in very remote parts of the country. They stray off the beaten track to connect the Simien mountains to Lalibela by foot. For Frédéric, a first timer in Ethiopia, the beauty of the land is a revelation. For Olivier who has been there 35 times already, it is a testimony to his unadulterated love of the country where chance encounters and unpredictable weather rule. See more
