23.01.2022 Today in Papua New Guinea we commemorate ANZAC Day and reflect on the bonds that tie our nation with Australia. We pay our respects to the men and women who los...t their lives defending our two countries. Learn more about Papua New Guinea’s role in WWI and WWII, and virtually visit our war history sites, via our online ANZAC hub (Link): https://bit.ly/discover-papua-new-guineas-anzac-connection See more

23.01.2022 This week was the first for home schooling in Queensland. Grade 2 at Holy Cross Primary in Cairns were asked to write a poem about Anzac Day. Each line starts with a letter from the word ANZAC. What follows confirms our faith in the next generation. Australian soldiers missing home... New Zealanders are our mates Zipped jackets kept our bodies warm As we fought the mighty war Camouflaging uniforms saved us from the bullets Crosby - age 7

23.01.2022 Last year was the Girls school, this year it is the Boys turn to trek Kokoda! The students from Sirius College had their first training walk through the Mt Dandenong Ranges on the weekend. They headed up the Firebreak to Skyhigh Café for their first stop, down to Dongalla and then back to the start. A big day of ups and downs! Thanks to Laurie and Jules for the many training tips and support. We are very excited to again be working with Sirius College and Getaway Trekking.

20.01.2022 ANZAC Day 2020 will not look like the ANZAC Day that so many of us are used to participating in. There will be a Dawn Service, wreaths will be laid, the last po...st will be played, a minute of silence in memory of the fallen will be observed, but the service community and the public will be asked to stay at home. This does not mean that ANZAC Day is cancelled. It just means that ANZAC Day will be different. In 2020, on April 25, while you can't go to the Shrine of Remembrance or a local Dawn Service, the RSL is asking that instead you #STANDTO. As the Last Post is played during the ANZAC Day Dawn Service walk outside, stand in your yard, driveway, or on your balcony and observe a minute of silence in respect of our veterans. Make sure that you snap a quick picture and share it right here on our Facebook page using the hashtag #STANDTO. Together, let's amplify our commitment to the ANZAC spirit. Lest We Forget.

09.01.2022 Adventure School Treks began its life as Kokoda School Treks, when this was the only trek we offered. We may get into trouble with our marketing team here because the branding's been changed.....but we just think this is too good not to share. We're really missing our treks, our clients and our crew. So for all of you who've trekked Kokoda, and those who have this fabulous experience on your bucket list, this is for you.... #takethefirststep #getyourtrekon #kokoda

Honestly, I had no idea how to run a travel business, I was completely out of my depth. But wow, is all I can say. The people I’ve met. The lessons I’ve learned. The countries I’ve seen. The cultures I’ve experienced. My life is so rich I’m physically and mentally sharper, I work with a passionate and committed team, and I have another whole family in PNG." See more
