25.01.2022 Planning a #photoshoot this Spring? Your team*, your menu, your products - your business deserves to look its best! Get in touch and let’s arrange a photoshoot! *And your dogs!

25.01.2022 Have you got a killer brand logo? Your brand logo is important! It should embody you and your business ethos - consider it like a badge you wear everywhere you go! Take a minute to think about yours. Does it represent your business ethos? Are you using the right colours? Is the design right? Is it scalable for different formats?... If its time for an update or an overhaul, we know a team that can help!

25.01.2022 This all started 7 years ago when Amy and Emily came together to discuss the little idea of running a small business together. Amy was just kicking off her marketing career and looking for clients, and Emily was in a bit of a stand still in her role in the Australian Public Service. With Amy’s background in hospitality, management, and marketing and Emily’s experience in communications, public relations and social media we thought we’d be the perfect duo to start our own litt...le biz! As any entrepreneur would know, we dove in and did everything ourselves for many years - ‘the jack of all trades’. Fast forward 6 years and things have gone gang-busters (apart from a bit of a rocky year due to COVID, which of course affected so many small businesses). We now have a team of six and we’re finally at a stage where things are chugging along quite nicely. So what’s next for A & E? Well, we’re continually up-skilling to keep up with this ever so fast digital world and constantly streamlining how we work to be more efficient and effective and help save our clients time and money! There’s plenty of fantastic opportunities on the horizon and we’re very excited to see where this goes! #AEmarketing

25.01.2022 Today’s to do list: 1. Relations 2. Stories 3. #Magic

24.01.2022 Does your business need professional photographs? Whether you’re looking to establish your brand or just need an update, high-quality, professional photographs are a must-have for businesses using social media! Visual platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are designed around sharing images and videos, so it’s essential that you have good content to use!

24.01.2022 How regularly should you post on Facebook? When it comes to posting, more isnt always better. If you post too regularly youll find that some of your content doesnt reach your followers. This means youre wasting time, energy, and money for suboptimal returns. On the other hand, if you dont post enough youll find that your opportunities to grow are limited and your engagement is inconsistent.... As a general rule of thumb, we recommend posting between 2 and 6 times each week. What works for you though will actually depend on factors such as your followers, businesses model, paid advertising, and content.

23.01.2022 Passion is priceless. #MondayMotivation

18.01.2022 So how do #Facebook ads work? Here’s a short and simple explainer Increasingly it’s becoming harder for organic posts to enable significant growth. Facebook prefers that users pay to promote content, so paid promotions are disproportionately effective versus organic posts to incentivise ongoing advertising with the platform. Obviously this means that when you pay to promote content on Facebook you’re able to share your content with a much larger audience than you would org...anically. For this to work, though, businesses need to see a decent return on investment. Fortunately, the advertising model is comprehensive. Facebook’s data collection and management algorithms are incredibly effective for linking interests and businesses, allowing you to reach your target audience, generate leads, and make sales. You can easily control important factors such as where you drive traffic, the duration of the advertising period, and where your content will be seen via the Ad Manager, which can also automatically optimise your promotions. If you’re looking to learn more just get in touch, we’re happy to explain in more detail!

17.01.2022 The benefit of email marketing, though, is that you’re able to talk directly to people who you know are interested in your business. As well as that, emails are far more likely to be seen and read than social media posts (which can reach as little as 15% of your followers!). An excerpt from our most recent blog on #EmailMarketing! Check it out at aemarketing.com.au!

16.01.2022 This is Alfie, and hed just like to wish all our four-legged friends a very happy International Dog Day! #internationaldogday

16.01.2022 Theres over 200 million (yep, thats 200,000,000) Instagram posts with #foodporn, and over 24 million posts using #smallbusiness. Thats a lot of competition! So even though theres value in using popular hashtags, they cant be all youre using. Tailoring your hashtags is a great way to find your niche and hit your target audience. Have you read our blog on #hashtags yet? Its available right here! https://aemarketing.com.au/thoughts/

16.01.2022 One of the big concerns that we regularly hear from business owners is their social media engagement. Generally this involves not generating leads and sales from followers, or having a big gap between how many people follow your business versus actually engage with it. Because we know youre busy, weve put together a quick list of hints and tips that can help improve your engagement!... Engage regularly: Make sure to check your social media accounts everyday, and engage with other businesses too! Collaborate with others: Like, comment, tag, and share. Its #social media, afterall! Use good images: Make sure your images are high-quality and embody your brand ethos. Maybe its time for a photoshoot? Use hashtags effectively: Check to make sure theyre relevant and suitable. Weve got a whole blog on this if you need a hand! Use ads: Even through social media is free, paying to promote your content is hugely beneficial and often worth the investment! Watch what is trending: Keep up-to-date with whats happening and get involved where you can! Know your platform: Whether youre posting to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, or Snapchat what works and what doesnt is different! Be authentic: Most importantly, make sure that youre authentic and true to yourself. For any business its important to build trust and respect. If you want to learn a bit more about social media marketing, check out our collection of thoughts here: www.aemarketing.com.au/thoughts

15.01.2022 We will remember them.

14.01.2022 Your engagement analytics are important! Keeping track of your engagement analytics is a great way to understand how your content is trending and track your business growth over the long term. Analytics can also help you to see how fast your business is expanding, what content generates the most engagement, and how your audience found you!

14.01.2022 Building your brand is about sharing your ideas with your audience. Theres a lot that goes into making your brand look and feel how you want it to, and its important to design your content in a way that highlights what makes you stand out from the crowd and your business ethos! If youre not sure where to start, how to share your ideas with your audience, or what you can do to stand out feel free to get in touch! Were offering FREE marketing consultations for small businesses until the end of the month - just send us a direct message or email and we can go from there!

13.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day! A huge thanks to all of the fathers in our lives - to the dads who are fathers of our children, to the dads who are fathers of our fur-babies and to the dads who are no longer with us. We love you, we appreciate you and we miss you

13.01.2022 A good website goes a long way to improving customer engagement, but often theyre designed once and left neglected. Heres four hints and tips on how you can fix some of the big mistakes we often see with small business websites! 1. Broken links are the fastest way to get someone to leave your website. Check to make sure that your social media accounts are linked properly and that your menus take you to where you want to go - its not a maze! 2. Have a consistent design... theme. Chopping and changing your fonts, use of space, and layout makes a website look stitched together. If youre not sure what you prefer, have a look for inspiration from some big companies like Apple, Nike, or Disney. 3. Keep your content up-to-date. Old promotions, menus, and photographs can cause problems. Generally minor updates are easy, but if youve made big changes to your business you may want to consider redesigning your website more substantially. 4. Make sure that your website is easy to use! Everyone has too many things to do and too many places to be to be spending time on a website that is difficult to use! Try less clutter, more white space, and clear menus. Simple changes, like cutting down on animations, can make your website faster and more user-friendly! If this feels like something you should do something about, but youre not sure where to start, just get in touch! A & E offers website consultations and updates for businesses of all sizes! Were committed to understanding your vision for your brand and have the flexibility to fit into any working-environment!

09.01.2022 Knowing what your business needs to be successful is a key pillar for developing your brand. 08.01.2022 It’s absolutely essential for small businesses to have a professional website that attracts and informs potential customers. Here’s four quick tips to get started: The elephant in the room is definitely spelling and grammar. Ask a friend to look over your website with fresh eyes in case you’ve missed anything, and if you’re in doubt make sure it’s at least consistent. Make sure your links go somewhere! Check that the URLs are accurate and that your social media accounts ...are properly linked. Be consistent with your themes, colours, and fonts. Ensure that they match your brand, both online and instore. If you’re short on ideas, look at the colours and fonts successful businesses in your industry use for inspiration! Use high-quality images, and make sure that they format correctly. You might need to crop images so that they don’t inadvertently stretch or overlap. Don’t forget to check that the website formats correctly on a desktop and mobile too!

08.01.2022 Time for a bit of Monday motivation! What are your goals this week?

08.01.2022 Running an online store is a great opportunity for small businesses. Not only is it super convenient for customers to shop at any time of day, it also massively increases your potential market reach. However, just like bricks and mortar, online stores need to develop trust, be authentic, and provide value to customers. Your store should be designed so that its easy and inviting, embodying your business ethos and providing customers with a unique experience. ... Equally, location and brand recognition matter. Rather than being on the high street, youll want to be at the top of a Google search. You might also want to consider paid advertising, which is a great way to promote your content to a wide audience and generate leads from your target demographic. Brand recognition is as important online as it is offline. If youre considering a refresh for your own website, or looking to launch a new business, feel free to get in touch for more information on how we can help design and develop your online store!
