25.01.2022 Hey Phoenix Family, If your children normally get their soccer practice through their participation with us, it can be challenging to find ways to keep up their skills and fitness at home while the restrictions are in place during COVID-19. Here are our top tips for keeping kids skills active and in the game!... 1 Get a at your feet, just kicking a ball will keep your basic skills up. 2 kick to kick, if you have an opportunity play a kick to kick game, start with two touch then transition to one touch. Then move the target and intensity. You can also use a wall if you need too. 3 Mini match, play a game. Make it competitive set up goals and time your game. 2x20mins. If indoors get creative and set up different goals in different rooms. 4 Set up an obstacle course, use different things around the house or backyard and dribble the ball between them. Level up by doing time trials. 5 Soccer is Life, challenge yourself to juggle the ball, see how much you can do!!! If you have any skills you’d like to share DM us we will share this in our story! Stay active and stay safe! Go Phoenix

24.01.2022 WHY KIDS SHOULD PLAY SOCCER? There are so many reasons why children play soccer. 1. Easy to learn... 2. Easy to do 3. Soccer is great exercise 4. Learn fair play 5. Social skills 6. Suitable for all 7. Low risk sport 8. Room to grow 9. It’s a lot of fun Soccer is one of the best sports for improving children’s social skills. Communication and cooperation are vital for playing the game and passing the ball. Children also improve their teamwork skills and often make great friends at the same time. As one of the volunteers at the club I have seen the growth and the efforts of the club to make parents and children welcome. When my son started playing soccer he was 7 and he isn’t a sporty child so getting him to play was an effort. Because his friends were getting involved he joined in. It was amazing for his confidence & fitness. He developed skills while he was having fun and got to do all this with his friends. He has been at this club for 3 years now and really enjoys being apart of the team. The club is looking for more kids to join in and get involved and it’s vital to encourage children to participate in physical activity. The person to call is Paul Matzouranis on 0429669747
