18.01.2022 Big day in Aurukun today! Not only did we kick a million goals with the students, we also spoiled the teachers with some sweet @brisbanelions and @gcsuns jerseys. The staff do a fantastic job out here and deserve a little treat from time to time.... Also pictured is Officer Stingray repping the new fishing top designed by an @aflcapeyorkhouseboys student. We always look forward to our visits to Aurukun and will be back before you know it. #Aurukun #AFL #BrisbaneLions #GoldCoastSUNS #CapeYork #Friends #Family #Community

11.01.2022 Massive thanks to Cooktown State School for hosting the Western Cape Communities Trust - WCCCA Crusader Cup Carnival. 5 teams including Rossville State School, Bloomfield River State School, Endeavour Christian College, Cooktown State School P-12 and Hope Vale Campus, Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy all battled hard in a series of games which concluded with the Grand Final between the Cooktown Cats and the Hopevale side. Hopevale took the glory by 8 points in arguably... the game of the day. A big thank you to all staff and students that made this event such a success and a massive shout out to John Deitz, the Gold Coast SUNS Academy manager for travelling up to take some names of possible inclusions to our representative programs happening in the future and handing out some SUNS merch to the players of the carnival. Such a great day! Can’t wait for next visit. Stay safe.

01.01.2022 Massive thanks to @masonsixtencox and @gevamentor for visiting @aflcapeyorkhouseboys yesterday. Both are selfless humans who are at the elite level in their individual sports and take time out of their life to share their journey and success with others. Both have also travelled a long way from home and family to chase their passion and dreams, not unlike our @aflcapeyorkhouseboys & @aflcyhg boarding residents.... To hear about their pathway and how they overcame personal struggles was truly engaging and something staff and students will carry with them for a very long time. Safe travels to you both as you continue sharing positive messages through the Cape and Torres Strait in the coming week. Welcome back anytime. #AFL #Netball #MoreThanAgame #Family #Friends #Community #Sport #Collingwood #USA #England #Australia #
