25.01.2022 We also have a few older boys that will be playing for North Cairns Tigers. Best luck to those guys too. There playing times are as such Under 14 boys 1:10 Griffiths Park Under 16 boys 3:30pm Griffiths Park.

25.01.2022 What a weekend. Thanks so much for those who attended and the parents that came up to Port Douglas as well. Everyone had a great time and the footy was pretty good too. The kids had a great time in the pool and on the slides and jumping pillows on Saturday followed by a bbq fit for a King or Queen on Saturday night. Sunday we played Under 9's,10's,12's and Under 15's and threw a few into the under 14's as well. The under 9's was excellent. So much to work with here. Mig...ht of just gone down. The under 10's was another cracker of a game and they might of just snuck over the line. The under 12's where pretty much over powered with a strong Crocs team. The under 14's where two sides consisting of the best from the crocs in both teams and we made up the rest from our girls and some amazing efforts from the Cutters to help out with numbers. Team crows won in the end with a few goals at the end of the last quarter to seal the game. The girls again with the help from the Cutters gave us enough numbers for a game of Under 15's. Even though the Crows won, it certainly gave insight to the new Croc girls a bit about footy. All in all footy was the winner over the weekend and the kids had a great time in doing it. It was certainly interesting listening to the 'best thing over the weekend' chat on the bus on the way home. So many thanks to: Port Douglas Football Club Pyramid Power Football Club South Cairns Football Club Glengarry Holiday Park AFLCairns Umpires Mission Link Kids and families of those involved and anyone else I might of missed. 23.01.2022 AFL UPDATE ON COVID-19: 17 MARCH 2020 PUBLISHED 17 MARCH, 2020, 4.48PM AEDT ... National Statement A note to the AFL football community, The health and well-being of fans, players, umpires, officials, partners, volunteers and communities has been our number one priority. We are determined to be part of the whole of community response to slow this COVID-19 virus down and in doing so, help the broader community and our health systems to cope. Following a series of meetings over the last number of days involving the AFL and all State and Territory CEOs, recommendations have been made in relation to Community football. Consistent with the decision yesterday in relation to State League football and the national and state talent programs, all AFL and AFL State association managed or operated leagues along with the NAB AFL Auskick Centres programs currently operating or set to begin, will be postponed until 31st May 2020. The AFL is also strongly recommending that independently governed junior and senior leagues and associations postpone the commencement and/or operation of their leagues/associations until the same date. This decision and recommendation covers AFL community matches, AFL community training sessions and face to face AFL, WAFC and SANFL education courses. Given the current climate of uncertainty and complexity, we felt it was best for our AFL community to take decisive action now. The recommendation was collectively agreed upon based on the nature of shared public facilities across community football clubs and the health and safety of our volunteer network. The AFL and AFL State and Territory Associations are committed to supporting community football during this time. We are a game, but we are not the main game. The main game is looking after the community and that is the clear priority for everyone at the moment. For football families like all families. It is paramount that support and engagement in community football continues during these times. It is vital players, coaches, administrators, supporters, sponsors, volunteers and kids retain close links to their local clubs, Auskick Centres and wider league network. The AFL will continue to meet with state and territory associations in relation to community football and will continually review this decision based on the changing circumstances and advice from government and relevant health departments and medical experts. We will communicate any updates and provide advice in a timely manner. Football has had many challenges and despite the size of this one, football will find a way through.

17.01.2022 Hi All. Sadly due to the oval. No training tonight or meeting. We have rescheduled training to Sunday at 10am and hot dogs for lunch. Followed by our meeting.

17.01.2022 Hi all and what a weekend. Season 2019 is definitely away. We ventured up the highway again and much thanks to John from Missionlink with the bus. And it was wonderful to see so many parents coming up too,. Maybe get a cheer squad up and going for the kids.. We started with our own under 9's and combined under 10's at 9am on Sunday morning at Fretwell Park. A few showers through the morning but Footy was the winner. How much these kids have grown with their footy skills ...from last year to this year and new ones picking up on this and following by example. All the kids I have been bragging about since yesterday. I know our new coach Shane was impressed with the under 9's and our under 10's are welcome back anytime with the 10's Under 11's was hard for the kids to kick off with but slowly they found a little form from last year and we could all see that this is going to be a good year to follow on from last season where we turned a few heads. Even though we where comfortably beaten we did win that special 3rd Quarter which was impressive to see. Under 12's we basically played last years premiers. We where down quite a few players and it showed but once again the signs are there for something special this year. I didn't get to see the Under 15 girls as we where playing at the same time but on a different oval. I heard we lost very easily and the girls are not quite as fit as the other team so basically lots of running coming up for the girls. So I guess the old sayings come back all the time. You will only play as well as you trained. What you put in is what you get out. Next weeks fixture will be up when finalized. Happy kicking everyone Nigel Club Prezzie

13.01.2022 Hi all. Wow, Another fantastic weekend of footy. Maybe not all the results we wanted but kids running around playing footy is a wonderful sight to see. Under 9's are amazing. Playing so hard and listening has been wonderful. Truly amazing these kids. Under 10's found a tough hawks team but the feedback was they had heaps of fun. Under 11's where much better this week. A few back in the side which helped and they where very competitive this week.... Under 12 showed what they are capable of this week. Winning by 50 odd points. With much more improvement to come and a few more kids back to the team this will be a fun season for them. Under 15 girls had a tough game again but a few indicators are starting to go their way. Fought it out to the end. In the last quarter stopped the Eagles from scoring which had been easy all game. Well done girls for fighting it out to the last quarter. Well done Crows and Power players. Also love seeing parents, friends and family being at the footy. As we build, our supporter base will as well. See everyone during the week...
