24.01.2022 Reflection on todays gospel (Presentation of our Lord). Luke 2:22-40 - written by Jo Hayes Simeon, a Holy & devout man, had a Word from the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Christ.... We call that a Rhema Word as opposed to a Logos Word which is actual scripture. BOTH are the Word of God. When Simeon saw Jesus he said, my eyes have seen what your Word promised. Its sometimes easy to doubt those Rhema Words we get from the Lord, & not stand on them as strongly as we would the Logos Word. But I hear God saying Dont doubt! It is The Word & The Word shall not return void, but will succeed in the thing for which it was sent! Isaiah 55:11 GLORY! If your heart is right with God, you can be confident youve heard correctly from the Holy Spirit. That Word/Promise about a spouse, child, healing, job, financial breakthrough, holiday(!) - whatever - will come to pass! See you all at mass!

22.01.2022 A letter from Bishop Ken Howell was read at Mass this last weekend to share the news that Fr Ron is retiring. Two of his nieces also spoke and let us know that ...he will be living at St Vincent's, Carseldine. We are sad to know he will no longer be our pastor, but rejoice in the community he helped us become. We are All Saints. See more

19.01.2022 OVERCOMING OFFENCE & DEFEATING YOUR ENEMIES: Offence/resentment is a stumbling block for MANY believers. Todays gospel (Matthew 5:38-48) spells out some tough - but essential - truths for living as children of God:... Do good to those who curse, persecute & spitefully use you. Oooh ... our flesh does not like this scripture, cuz it can be hard! So hard. We want justice!!! But we block access to Gods favour, power, vindication and perfect justice, when we disobey this commandment. I dont know about you, but the persecution ramped up in my life as I began to really step out boldly for the Kingdom. The devil will pull out all stops to get Christians offended ... because resentment, bitterness & unforgiveness are MAJOR BLOCKAGES to fulfilling our Kingdom purpose. But the bible is clear: if we want to live a life of victory, freedom, peace, power, purpose & prosperity - everything promised to those in Christ - we must obey His Word. Including doing good to our enemies. **This doesnt mean not confronting & rebuking wrong behaviour. We must do that, too, & set healthy boundaries. While blessing our persecutors & not harbouring unforgiveness in our hearts. I am a living witness: God will not only supply you with PERFECT VINDICATION ... He promises to bless you in the presence of your enemies!! Glory to God! Written by Jo Hayes

18.01.2022 Palm Sunday is the final sunday of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates the triumphant arrival of Christ in Jerusalem days before he was crucif...ied. In the Gospels, Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey and to the praise of townspeople who threw Palms in front of him as a mark of great respect. Though unable to gather as a community one of the blessings of our technological age is that we are able to tune in the cathedral of St Stephens for a live webcast. Mass tomorrow will be live streamed at 8am and 10am. To view go to www.cathedralofststephen.org.au God Bless. See more

09.01.2022 Ooh I have a Holy Spirit FIRE in my spirit about today’s Word! The story of Abraham offering his only son, Isaac, as a burnt offering, in obedience to God’s call (Genesis 22:1-18). I LOVE this story because it reveals to us a situation WE ALL FACE.... God asking us to do something that does not ‘make sense’ in the natural ... AND that ‘seems’ to contradict a promise He’s given us. Can you relate?? I DEFINITELY can! I have tears in my eyes thinking of the many times where God has clearly given me a Word of promise (from scripture or in my spirit) ... and next minute, a situation arises that is opposite to that promise. Or God tells me to do something that REALLY seems to be the opposite of His original promise. My heart has ached at the sense of ‘loss’ that wells up: ‘God I know you are faithful, you have never failed me ... but this situation is just SO NOT WHAT YOU PROMISED ME’. ‘God, did I REALLY misunderstand you and that call/promise? I felt so called to __ & you confirmed the call in many ways ... and yet you’re leading me to/asking me to do something that is the opposite!’ And in that moment, I hear God say: DO NOT lean on your own understanding, my precious daughter. I see this situation far better than you do. I need to see that you will obey me, ESPECIALLY when it doesn’t make sense’. Because really, what is faith but stepping out when it doesn’t make sense & looks ‘impossible’? And that’s the life we’re called to as Christians. And I want to SHOUT, because I have seen with my own eyes God literally tip situations upside down, in order to fulfil His original Promise to me. I can give you example after example: jobs, financial provision, relationships, open doors, miraculous (and immediate) physical healing, ‘unbelievable’ favour in ‘unbelievable’ situations. Literal miracles. But ONLY WHEN I obey His Voice. When I ignore him (disobey/sin), and do things that ‘makes sense’ to me, it all gets stuffed up big time. And we are promised in scripture, that like Abraham, our obedience will bear for us the fruit of exceedingly abundant blessings. On the brink of Christ’s resurrection, let’s step out in faith, obeying everything He tells us to do + believing with great expectation that He will deliver EVERYTHING he has promised. GLORY TO GOD! Easter love to you all, Jo Hayes xx

08.01.2022 Keep up to date with the news of the church but make sure, when the churches reopen to support this vital source of information.

08.01.2022 Anther great reflection by our resident journo Jo JESUS HEALS THE BLIND MAN JOHN 9:1-41... Todays gospel - on the first Sunday of no public masses, due to Coronavirus - is a timely message for the entire world. The take away message, captured in the first two words: JESUS HEALS If thats all we receive from todays readings, I reckon that would be enough. IF, we actually RECEIVE and BELIEVE that statement, as actual fact, and actual truth. Jesus wants to heal us. Thats WHY he came to earth. From Genesis to Revelation, the scriptures are all about Gods desire to HEAL US. All of us, not just a blind man from 2000 years ago. All of us, in all ways. Physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and in every other way a person needs to be healed. WHO NEEDS A HEALING TODAY? Obviously, hundreds of thousands are in need of healing from the deadly Coronavirus while the rest of us are believing God for protection from the pandemic. And aside from Covid19, we all have our existing lives that are in need of Jesus healing in some way. Firstly, and most importantly, we ALL need our spiritual sight restored, so that we can see (know) the Truth (everything written in Gods Word). That takes a personal encounter with Jesus receiving His Holy Spirit into our hearts (as David did in todays first reading - 1 Samuel 16). Spiritual healing is the foundation for EVERY OTHER HEALING. A physical healing, an emotional breakthrough, relationship restored the list goes on. We dont need to ask God IF He wants to heal us (again, from Genesis to Revelation, we know it is His will), but rather, what we need to do to receive that healing. The answer: Do whatever he tells you. Youll remember that excellent piece of motherly advice from Mary at the wedding feast of Cana and it holds true for us today, and forever. The Word of God tells us exactly what we need to do to receive healing: Repent and turn from sin + obey the laws of God + confess Jesus as Lord = YOU WILL BE HEALED and enjoy life in abundance (2 Chronicles 7:14 + Romans 10:9 + Deuteronomy 28:1-14 + John 10:10). Thats it! All of the THOUSANDS of promises in scripture (including healing and health) are ours for the taking, if we will humble ourselves and do what Jesus tells us. The blind man in todays gospel did exactly what Jesus said - and he was healed. Whatever healing you need today (physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, relational, financial, whatever!), get with God, get in The Word and do what it says! I have thousands of examples in my own life of God HEALING me in every way - once I aligned my heart with His Word and Will (which is a daily process!). Dont wait another day - claim what is rightfully yours as a child of God! Love Jo xo
