24.01.2022 What do you want? This can be the hardest question in the world sometimes. What do you want for dinner? What do you want in a partner? What do you want from life? these are all big questions that can make people freeze up. For me, to be real with you, I don't know. But what I do know is that I want to be successful in my marketing career. I want to be financially stable and I want to be baseline happy, I just don't know how that looks. ... Things might change too - when I was 18 I wanted to marry my longterm partner, have a house on some land and have a family. By the time I was 21, I had left my partner, moved to the city to study. At 28, I still haven't finished my degree, I chose to travel and focus on my work. Leaving me single but determined. Don't get caught up in the specifics because things change. Think about what you want as a big picture, then work out how you are going to get it. If one strategy doesn't work, try another, and another until one does.

02.01.2022 Pop culture references - how do you feel about them? A mature aged student in my university class incorporated the Star Wars opening credits into his group presentation. I am a nerd and I love a good pop culture reference, but this was cringe-worthy. No one else in the group seemed to get the reference or did and was embarrassed by it. The awkwardness made the mature aged student being nervous and he did not present very well. Pop culture references can work really well in your web copy, ad copy and even as a constant throughout your marketing strategy but they have to be relevant! Do not talk about Harry Potter if you are a legal firm when a Suits or Boston Legal reference would work 1000x better.
