20.01.2022 | COMMUNITY FEEDBACK - CONTACLESS IFTAR AND EID | Service to the community is one of the five core values that we aim to instil in our students at AIIC. During this testing and unprecedented time, we came together to host contactless iftar and eid events. We also opened our school to organisations such as Brothers In Need to help the community. We received some heartwarming letters and cards from our community, particularly from our neighbours. We are humbled and proud to have such neighbours. Prophet Muhammed () said "Angel Jibreel continued to recommend me about treating the neighbours kindly and politely so much so that I thought he would order me to make them as my heirs".

17.01.2022 | NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL BUILDING | Alhamdulillah. Development Permit Application for a new Primary School Building has been lodged with Brisbane City Council. The building will house 3 state-of-the-art prep classrooms, 10 additional primary classrooms, play areas and open plan modern office spaces. The project is expected to cost approximately $4.6 million and the construction is scheduled to start by the end of this year for potential use for the third term in 2021 Insha Allah. Please make dua that the project will run smoothly as planned. Just a gentle reminder that our Round 2 Enrolment closes on the 18th of September, 2020. 15.01.2022 | VET & Careers Department | This afternoon, it was an honour to formally launch the AIIC VET and Careers Department, with an information session and meet and greet afternoon tea. Hosted by our new Head of VET and Careers, Mrs Susanne Fletcher, this event is the first of many and was very warmly received by students and parents alike. We all look forward to this innovative and exciting chapter for AIIC.
15.01.2022 | FRUIT KEBABS AT AIIC KINDERGARTEN | Our kindergarten students showcased their skills through the fun filled Fruit Kebab activity. The learning intention for this activity was focused around the mathematical concept of pattern formations. This task enabled the children to use different fruit to create a pattern for their own fruit kebab. A fantastic learning activity which promoted real life connections.

14.01.2022 | SENIOR LEADERSHIP CAMP | Friday evening saw the AIIC Durack campus come alive with laughter, energy and cross-generational competition as our Senior College students engaged in the first of our 2020 Leadership camps. With rock climbing, tug of war, ultimate frisbee, caligraphy and martial arts, the school was abuzz with activity as our student built their leadership capacity. We thank our partners Base Zero - Mobile Rock Climbing Brisbane for providing mobile rock climbing... experience and Southside Academy of Combat for the martial arts sessions. We also would like to thank CAPT Brendan Quirk and LT Damien Radfordank from Unit 2/14 Light Horse Regiment for joining us. Hats off to our imams and teachers for organising this successful event. Last Friday, we had our primary leadership camp as a part of many leadership camps scheduled for this year. 13.01.2022 Our Graduates Form Brisbane Muslim Youth Group! Giving back to community is a key pillar at AIIC. We constantly aim to instill our motto of excellence in education, character and service in our students. Our recent graduates are a prime example of what we, as a school, stand for. While most Year 12’s were keen to finish up with their schools, our graduates came back and packed nearly 600 meals to give away at our annual Jalsa event.... Now, they have formed a group to discuss topics directly relevant to Muslim Youths in Australia. Please follow, share and provide feedback so that they can grow into young leaders, who not only identify the problems and opportunities, but also provide sustainable solutions to community. We are so proud of the young men and women who graduate from AIIC.

11.01.2022 | IMPACT OF VOLUNTEERING - CERT III ACTIVE VOLUNTEERING, AIIC | "During the last session of Cert III Active Volunteering this term, the three Vocational trainers organised a workshop in class, to discuss the impact of being a 'Volunteer' in our community. This was really well received by the students, with the session including an overview of volunteer work, its importance, and the impact it creates in other's lives. The students were given time to write about their future dreams and how they would like to contribute to their community and leave a legacy behind them."

10.01.2022 | Year 10 Work Experience - VET, AIIC | Our Year 10 students have attended Work Experience for the whole of last week, with thanks to our very generous host employers. Students got experience in taking direction, customer service, food preparation, operating the cash register, assembling workshop materials, cleaning, stacking shelves, group tasks and how to get along with other staff and volunteers. Many students enjoyed so many things they learned this week. A very big thank you to Miss Tanu from the VET Team, who did an amazing job organising and our Trainers Miss Mohshina, Miss Wang and Imam Younous, who visited students.

Our students are definitely looking forward for their excursions to begin! North Stradbroke Island biology excursion is one of the last excursions that our Year 12 attended before COVID-19 restriction. Alhamdulillah, our students are well prepared for the Secondary School and are ready for this big transition. On behalf of AIIC family, we would like to congratulate the winners Substation33 Youth Voice Brisbane Jack Pool from Meals on Wheels Queensland and Faysel Ahmed Selat. Congratulations to the finalists for your contribution to our society. We will be partnering with some of the winners and finalists to inspire our students. It is humbling to be the finalists of two awards and thank you ABC Brisbane for choosing us over hundreds of worthy individuals and organisations. 05.01.2022 | STAFF & COMMUNITY GIVING FUND | Principal Christine Harman speaks about our uniform standards and expectation and introduces AIIC's Staff Giving Fund, which is a fund established and contributed by our staff to help the families in need with the uniform. She also calls out volunteers who can teach our students how to mend their uniform. 04.01.2022 | STRONGER TOGETHER | AIIC has a long and proud history of working hand in hand with our community partners. Yesterday saw two wonderful visits that further cemented these relationships. Inspector Dowdy and Sergeant Fioritti, along with PLO' Aden and Kenji, had a lovely visit and tour of our school, where the children enjoyed asking questions and learning about how Queensland Police Service keep us safe.... Dr Nora Amath from the Islamic Womens Association of Australia IWAA Australia, along with her colleagues were warmly welcomed into our College to discuss some of the moving and powerful programs they will be running with our Secondary students, as well as other partnerships they can offer to our parents. We are so fortunate to have such strong bonds with our community organisations.

03.01.2022 | PRINCIPAL DAY | AIIC celebrated Principal Day with a surprise party for Principal Christine Harman in our primary precinct. An event attended by Board Members and Staff, Mrs Zeba Khan highlighted how the school under the leadership of the Principal and Heads navigated smoothly and effectively during this unprecedented and challenging times. Mrs Khan further added: Christine I must say, in the little time that she has been with us, she was faced with so many challenges, one... after another, but she has battled them all so well. Not only that, she has the quality of understanding others so well, that she wins them so quickly. She uses the weapons of empathy and sympathy and all other pathies to build a strong, healthy and professional environment in our school. I think that is what she wants us as teachers to practice. I would especially like to thank our Principal Christine Harman, who made everything so smooth and comfortable for us, that at some point we felt as if she had been with us always Primary Students gave Principal hand-made cards to thank and congratulate her on this special occasion.
