13.01.2022 AIRBNB & COVID 19 Many people assume because of Covid 19 restrictions that all Airbnb properties have been completely empty without guests. The reality is far from this. Whilst Airbnb properties have not been able to have guests for holidays, recreation, family trips etc due to social isolation, there are many other people who have been able to stay in Airbnb properties, for valid reasons in compliance with Federal and State Covid 19 restrictions.... We have had most of our Airbnb properties full, or near full throughout this time. With the closing of National Parks, Caravan Parks, Backpackers, Hostels, lack of permanent rentals and the closing of many motels / hotels many people with genuine and legal reasons had virtually no other option but to stay at an Airbnb property. Guests who have stayed in our Airbnb properties over this time include: - guests who are here on a business trip (1-4 days) - workers who here are here on ongoing business /employment (roads, quarry, development, building, services) and can no longer stay in their normal hotel / motel accommodation, as they have been closed to guests - Australians who are stranded here and can't be back to their own state / territory and need somewhere to stay until border restrictions are lifted - Australians travelling around Australia and need to stay here, until the travel restrictions are lifted - Caravaners who are unable to stay in caravan parks and have booked an Airbnb property to stay, until restrictions are lifted and they are able to once again travel and live in their caravan - Internationals - French, Germans, British, Belgians, Swiss, Americans, Irish, who have booked longer stays whilst waiting for evacuation flights back to their home country, as arranged by their respective governments - Internationals who are stranded here and can't get back to their own country, or can't continue their trip around Australia and need somewhere to stay until border restrictions are lifted - 14 day isolation stays - initially with international visitors, then with visitors from interstate - People moving to the coast that need accommodation until they secure a permanent rental (ie nurses, doctors, government positions) - Essential workers - hospital workers that have come from elsewhere in Queensland for work at the local hospitals and are here for 2-7 day stays - Father who lives with his elderly parents, who rented an apartment one street away, so he could have his one week custody with his children and not endanger his parents and their health Reading the list it makes sense that this large group of people all needed assistance with accommodation during this time. If your property wasn't being managed to take maximum your guest occupancy with different, legally compliant visitors, then it is possibly time to contact us, to see what we can do to help you with your property.
