22.01.2022 National recognition for previous director of AISH, Prof Doug McEvoy in yesterday's Australian Honours list. Doug has a global reputation in sleep medicine, truly one of the founders of the field in Australia, and still contributes to much of our current work. 13.01.2022 Congratulations to AISH researcher Dr Amal Osman, who last night received the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand SA/NT branch New Investigator Award, for her work on upper airway physiology and mandibular advancement therapy for people with sleep apnea.

07.01.2022 We are running a study examining the effects of light on sleep, performance and circadian rhythms at the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health, Flinders University, South Australia. The study will include a screening questionnaire, an eye-health examination at Flinders Vision, and two 8-day live-in protocols of simulated night-shift conditions at the state-of-the-art Sleep Laboratory at the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health. Successful participants will be reimbursed $3,000 f...or their time and involvement in this study. You may be suitable to take part if you: Are at least 18 years of age, Do not have a sleep disorder (e.g. insomnia, sleep apnoea, etc.), Are not a shift-worker, and Are not planning any overseas travel during the two-month study. If you are interested in participating in this study, please email [email protected]. This research is being conducted by researchers at the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health, Flinders University. The project is being supported by a research network for undersea decision superiority grant (Australian Department of Defence), Flinders University, and REDARC. This project has been approved by the Southern Adelaide Clinical Human Research Ethics Committee.
