03.01.2022 Australs (the Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championships) is being held online by Monash Uni on the 12th-17th of July this year. If you wish to come to Australs either as a Debater or Adjudicator, please fill out this form. Depending on numbers we will run online Trials to determine teams and spots. https://forms.gle/UbxcrwvBWxnfFnyV8... Because Australs is online it is much cheaper than normal $10 per debater and free to Adj! Well we cant guarantee that everyone will get a spot, we will do out best and filling out this form accurately and timely makes that process easier. Because this is the case, we highly encourage everyone to at least come and adj. Its a great opportunity to be a part of a major contingent, learn lots about adjing by watching good debates and judge with experienced judges It will be lots of fun! For those who dont know what Australs is, its our second major or the year. Unlike Easters it doesnt function on a Pro Am set up. Importantly for those first-year debaters going to Australs as a debater means you lose your Easters Novice status. Therefore, we would suggest before considering trialing for Australs weighting up if Easters is more important. But as mentioned above you can go and adj which is a great idea! If you have any questions regarding this decision or anything to do with Australs, please message Tom or the page, or just talk to anyone on the exec at internals
