25.01.2022 *Postponed* AJSV Konshinkai-Summer Networking night Due to Victoria returning to COVID 19 restrictions, the Konshinkai planned for this Thursday the 18th has been postponed. A new date will be set following advice from the Victorian Government on when public events can resume. In the interim, from everyone on the AJSV committee, keep safe and we will see you soon.

22.01.2022 SEMINAR Japan Australia M&A - Year in Review 2019 Japanese investment into Australia continued to be significant in 2019, with Japan ranking as the largest investor into Australia by deal value (A$21 bn) in Q1-3 2019, and the third largest by deal number (after the US and UK). Japanese outbound M&A has been resilient against a global downward M&A trend caused by geopolitical uncertainties and increased regulatory oversight. So what is in store for 2020? Our annual Japan Austr...alia M&A Year in Review seminar this year will feature presentations from our Ashurst Japan Client Team on current hot topics and trends we are seeing which will drive deals in 2020, and a panel discussion on "Fresh perspectives on Japan Australia M&A". Joining the panel this year is Liam Eldon, Senior Investment Manager Japan and Korea from Invest Victoria and Celeste Koravos, Legal Counsel Corporate Planning from Mitsui & Co. (Australia). Please note the presentation materials will be available in both English and Japanese.
