25.01.2022 Today Mr T and Mr France hosted a special Movember fundraising day. Students dressed up in their favourite sporting colours for a gold coin donation and a special sausage sizzle lunch was available to purchase. We look forward to hearing the final amount raised by our 2 superstar teachers in early December.

21.01.2022 What do you do with 100kilos of potatoes???? Math of course! Students across the school this week have been using potatoes to learn math in all sorts of ways such as weight, money, measurement and angles.

15.01.2022 Our Alawa’ museum’ has been such a hit that due to high demand we will be keeping open for another week! We will have our museum open for students to take their parents through during Student Led Conference hours on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. If you do not have a child at the school and would like to view the museum please contact the school to arrange a suitable time 8997 7666

13.01.2022 This week we have celebrated our wonderful Transition Teacher Ms Henschke and her pregnancy. We have had lots of fun and games with pin the dummy in the babies mouth, nappy changing challenges, yummy morning tea and lots of presents! We are super excited for Ms Henschke and her husband and looking forward to meeting their new baby boy in a few weeks all the best and see you soon



11.01.2022 Last week some of our students took part in the NT Learning Commission interactive session where they shared their thoughts and ideas with other students across the NT.

11.01.2022 This morning’s special NAIDOC week assembly was hosted by Year 3 Hughes and Transition Henschke. They did a beautiful job teaching us some aboriginal words for local animals and getting us all up and moving to the ‘Wombat wobble’ fantastic work! Congratulations also to all of our award winners for the fortnight

11.01.2022 This morning Year 4/5 France hosted a beautiful assembly where they celebrated our wonderful SESA’s and all that they do around our school. Students from throughout the school joined in by creating a special piece for each SESA to take home as a thank you for all their efforts. A big congratulations also to all those students that have ended Term 3 with a bang and received an award for all the hard work throughout the term. Fantastic work!

11.01.2022 WOW! What a night Our whole school performance night celebrating Alawa through the years was an absolutely wonderful night. The students danced their hearts out and we even had some parents up showing us their ‘olden days’ dancing moves We cannot thank our community enough for supporting our students and staff and helping us celebrate. A big thank you also to all of our super helpers on the night as well you are instrumental in making these nights a success and we thank... you for all your hard work both before and on the night. Our final thank you goes to our awesome dance instructor Kristy Love from RIX KIX ARTS Dance Studio and our amazing teachers for all the extra work you put in to putting these performances together AS well as teaching our students. you are SUPERSTARS! We would love to see any videos and pics you have of the night so feel free to share them with us and once again thanks for coming along.

08.01.2022 Today, students in Preschool to Year 2 had a special lesson on water safety. Preschool were also lucky enough to receive their very own song and dance lesson from Boof the Barra and the team at Royal Life Saving NT Check out their awesome moves below.

08.01.2022 What a wonderful morning we had celebrating our 50th Birthday year! Fantastic to see so many former students, staff and family members come along to join in with our celebrations. Our museum set up inside the Hub was such a HUGE hit we have decided to extend its opening for another week. ... We would like to give a big thank you to Harrison and Xavier's mum Steph and Nana Jenni and Rafael and Miguel's mum Erica for all of your amazing efforts put in to help Ms Tamra with setting this up. We will continue to share photos with you throughout the year via the 50th Birthday Facebook group.

07.01.2022 Alawa's Got Talent is on again and once again we have had a huge amount of students sign up to showcase their talents! This year in Alawa’s Got Talent we have had a range of different acts. We have had singers, comedians, dancers, storytellers and musical instruments. We are very much looking forward to our remaining contenders and announcing our winners during the final assembly of the term. Good luck everyone

03.01.2022 Thanks to Year 4/5 Henderson who hosted our assembly today and shared with us some of their super impressive drama skills. Very funny assembly enjoyed by all! A HUGE congratulations to our latest superstar Shannon who received an honour distinction award and therefore will be our Principal today. Congratulations also to all of our award winners today, we love seeing the students rewarded for all of their hard work.

03.01.2022 The Junior and Senior Learning Commission students had a great day at the NT Learning Commission day. They presented their pitch to the minister about critical and creative thinking and its importance in schools. A great job by all!
