The contractor BGC will be fencing off their compound area that will take a large section of the paddock as well as the drive way that leads onto Diprose Cres. They will also be fencing areas around the back end of the Population Health building. ... We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

11.01.2022 Local journalist Anne Simpson is currently researching and collating the 30+ year history of Albany's much- loved community hospice. Throughout these years, guests and their families have received the best in palliative care, support and compassion from doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers, with appreciation reflected in hundreds of different ways. These include gifts, donations, fundraising initiatives, volunteering and word of mouth to name a few. If you have been touch...ed by hospice, we would love to hear from you and share some of your special tributes in the book. These could simply include a moment when there was someone to give you a hug, pass the tissues, hold the hand of your loved one, or just be there to care. Your privacy will be respected, and if you would like to contribute your thoughts or need help putting a few words together, please contact Anne at [email protected]

04.01.2022 A CALL FOR QUILTS We often receive beautiful gifts in memory of loved ones, the most recent being this colourful quilt from Jennifer Reed in memory of her husband Adrian. The colourful quilts that adorn the beds here at Hospice are all part of the warmth and character that make our rooms feel like home for our guests, but we need more. We are calling out to anyone who enjoys quilting to donate king single quilts so we can replace some of our old ones and brighten up our beds. Please feel free to contact us on (08) 9892 2456 or drop in to this Hospice to find our more.

04.01.2022 Has Hospice touched your life? Do you consider yourself a supporter of the only Community Hospice in WA? If so, we value what you have to say. The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia and Albany Community Hospice are inviting members of the Great Southern Community to take part in focus groups exploring views around the enactment of Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation in WA as it relates to hospice. Voluntary assisted dying was made legal in Western Australia in December 2019 under the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2019 and will be available to eligible terminally ill people from June 2021. The groups are to be held in August and September and will be led by an external, independent facilitator. You are invited to attend one, 2-hour session. Tea and coffee provided.
