20.01.2022 Images of Vollies in big country. Respect to all. Pics by Kirsty.

19.01.2022 Well, it’s that time of year when we celebrate the year and thank our volunteers for their endeavour. The Woodfired Catering Co. did a sterling job of serving the imbibers. A number of our crew received DFES Meritorious Service Awards from Marine Services Manager Mark Eatts. Most notable was the 35 year medal awarded to Colin Page. Col is very much a part of Sea Rescue history.... We wish all our people and the wider ocean using public a wonderful and safe new year.

18.01.2022 Stan and Joyce Morley, Life Members of ASRS, a couple of squad stalwarts, recently decided that it's time to hang up their respective PFDs, microphones and aprons after more than 35yrs with us. I'm sure I speak for the committee, our Mariners, and the many members of the public that you've both assisted over the years when I say -- from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all that you've done and all that you have so freely given over the years. Hope you both enjoyed the afternoon tea :) All the best guys, look forward to seeing you around ~Jais

18.01.2022 The good old sausage sizzles may be on hold but Bunnings are still keeping up their community involvement. Albany Sea Rescues Commander Derek Ryall (the one without the bun) received some vouchers from Leisa. Huge thanks to the Bunnings crew for the acknowledgment of Volunteers.

18.01.2022 SEA RESCUE URGES CALM Albany Sea Rescue are urging travellers to stay away from the coast this Easter. The captain of Albany Sea Rescue says the coronavirus pan...demic has placed extra restrictions on their volunteer crews. Chris Johns says he would prefer if everyone stayed home over the holidays. "We do live in a fabulous place and we completely understand that people have a need to get out but we have constraints on us and PPE so I'd expect the public to perhaps consider that when they make decisions," he said. "Everyone is aware that there is an issue that is shouldn't allow you to travel even if it's your region and if you do and you decide to go fishing then there's an increased burden on those who have to respond."

14.01.2022 SEARCH CALLED OFF Police have officially called off the search for Victoria McLoy this afternoon. Divers spent today searching the ocean around Isthmus Beach b...ut found no trace of the missing person. Geoffrey Bignell and Ms McCloy travelled to Bald Head on a fishing trip last weekend but were reported missing after failing to return home to Northam on Sunday. The search recovered a body believed to be Mr Bignell's on Friday.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone, we (Alb. Marine Rescue and Alb. Surf Life Saving) had another big job on today. It is difficult to determine just what makes a successful outcome however it is possibly fair to assert that Albany is well served across all emergency services. We are of course especially proud of the historical synergy between these two groups. Well done those crew!

14.01.2022 This recount is a remarkable story and one which underlines the harsh reality of surviving against all odds. Glenn’s words and honesty should be applauded.

13.01.2022 These images don’t reflect the gravity underpinning the operation however they may indicate the endeavour. Albany’s Surf Life Saving team rock, as do all participants.

12.01.2022 Our President in keeping with modern inclusivity congratulates two more awardees of the Breakers Club. Interestingly, one of those pictured was already a member of this exclusive band and both have considerably broadened membership criteria over the standard bent prop category. A bit of fun and camaraderie for those who step up.

11.01.2022 Massive week, hats off to our crews and all who step up.

11.01.2022 Some pics of the crews searching out on the water today. Hope springs eternal.

10.01.2022 A few of the crew getting various awards at our Christmas shindig. Some are of a meritorious nature like training milestones ( thanks Dave Bromilow) and others are for damage done during deeds. The Breaker club is getting a little crowded . Cheers to all the ASRS people for another outstanding year of service to the community!

09.01.2022 Further to our last post about Stan and Joyce Morley, here is a nice little write-up that the Albany Ad came down to do for them :) https://www.albanyadvertiser.com.au//albany-husband-and-wi

07.01.2022 Hi folks, just a pic to show that our radio operators, crews and coordinators are still on the job throughout these interesting times. Stay safe on the big puddle!

04.01.2022 Last year we lost one of our greats however, Heinz will not be forgotten principally because he was just a good man and also because he has left behind a wonderful legacy. It may not be common knowledge but Heinz aided by his son Chris devised and implemented a web based radio logon/ log off program which has become an integral and much loved part of ALBANY SEA RESCUE radio operations. It a fabulous piece of kit- check it out! (Post below) marine rescue support.com.au

01.01.2022 We had an interesting inquiry this morning. Caller, are there any FAD’s ( fish attracting devices) in Albany? ASR, yes apparently there are a couple somewhere around the Eclipse Island area.... Caller, well not any more, there are two of them out here in Esperence now! Does anyone out there know anything about this and if this is the case may we suggest that you carry some spare fuel if you’re going to fish around the FAD’s? Cheers everyone, ASRS
