20.01.2022 This is pretty cool news. Around the time I arrived in Sydney there was a huge political debate about Electric Cars. The Liberals questioned if they were effect...ive enough. Unfortunately for them a Dutch guy decided to prove otherwise and the headline "Wiebe whacks the Liberals" is a pretty fun spin to my name and definitely one I will put in a frame. Last part of the article: "Meanwhile, in a world despirately needing a hero Wiebe Wakker from NL has completed his 95.000km drive in an EV. In light of his achievements, and the mighty performance of the Blue Bandit, the anti-EV scaremongering starts to look a little preposterous." Article taken from Outdoor Magazine in May but just discovered it yesterday.

18.01.2022 MORE SOLAR INSTALLATIONS TO BE ALLOWED Whats your experience with solar in Esperance been like? Horizon power are to allow additional solar installations ...in Esperance because new technology has enabled an extra 2MW of power to be generated from residents rooftops. The company says that from 1 July 2019, all solar connection applications must comply with new technical requirements and there could be some devils in the detail yet to come to light. Horizon customers in Esperance will be able to assess their eligibility for rooftop solar and apply for a connection via the Horizon website from July 1. Wiebe has travelled all the way from the Netherlands to Australia in the Blue Bandit and his aim is to make it to Sydney! (Via many different towns and cities in Australia!) 10.01.2022 THE QUIETEST ROAD TRIP Chris Jones and a convoy of electric cars are making their way from Perth to Esperance today to encourage local councils to install fast-...charging stations. The 22 kilowatt charging stations that are in many locations take up to 2 hours to fully charge an electric car, adding hours to their trip. A fast-charging station can charge a car in less than half an hour. Mr. Jones says charging stations are also a great way to get people out of their cars and spending money in regional towns. "I think they should really get on board... The councils would do very well to encourage EV (electric vehicle) charging points for that reason".
