25.01.2022 Ilona McGavock is a registered osteopath, practising in Sydney and Fremantle since 1999. She commenced the practice of yoga at the age of 21, seeking relief from pain after a car accident and since then has completed over 1300 hours of teacher training in Iyengar and Vinyasa styles and in yoga therapy. Qigong came into her life in 2005 while working at The Healing Point in Fremantle. Here she trained with Dr Bisong Guo, Master Zhenhua Yang and Dr Peter Caughey (TCM). Ilona will share Qigong Elements & Seasons introductions to movement, sound, tapping and self massage to enhance your health and well-being. Bookings from Sept 29 for this week 1 course .

23.01.2022 Maree Dawes was raised in the wheat belt of Western Australia, and now lives in sight of the Southern Ocean. Maree’s first collection, Women of the Minotaur (Tactile Books 2008), explored the lives of mistresses in Picasso’s life. It was featured on ABC’s Poetica in May 2009. Her verse novel BRB, which dives into online life in the nineties, was published by Spineless Wonders in 2014 and is now available on KOBO. 20.01.2022 Pam Goodman is a Feldenkrais Practitioner with over 40 years experience in the method. Her work as a physiotherapist led to her interest in the educational process. Feldenkrais uses movement as a tool for teaching greater self-awareness and autonomy. It can be beneficial for anyone, and is used for the benefit of sports people, dancers, actors, musicians and anyone wishing to move and live more easily. 18.01.2022 Remember when death was only spoken about after it had occurred? Not so anymore, now it is talked about and planned by individuals and families. Death for Beginners was a very popular course last year and it returns in 2021. Over the course of the week you will hear from, and get the chance to discuss your end of life questions with a range of highly experienced professionals and passionate community members. Their expertise ranges across legal, financial, grief support, DIY funerals and health care. 16.01.2022 Patricia Roux has been teaching yoga since 2008 in France, Switzerland, Indonesia and Australia. Passionate about the practice, she seeks to provide a platform in which students are encouraged to increase their sense of body awareness as well as the capacity for introspection. Her classes are an opportunity to learn simple keys for a healthy and balanced life, through a clean-cut and mindful approach. Patricia has a Masters degree in Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Studies and a Bachelor degree in Psychology. Originally from Switzerland, she is based with her family in Western Australia, where she provides hatha yoga, meditation and yin yoga classes. 15.01.2022 Esther Schlager has lived in Albany for 30 years and In that time, she ran the Spiritualist Church for 5 years. She has held talks and discussions on spiritual awareness and has taught tarot readings, healings and meditation. Esther has also taught Understanding of the Tarot and its symbols for 18 months at Albany TAFE. She still does readings, healings and discussions with groups and individuals.
13.01.2022 Bobbi McCain has been working in pyrography for six years and lives in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. She mainly draws inspiration from nature but during the past year she has been studying the art of tattooing, and now her style is evolving again, which it continuously has, and which she feels art should do, if you feel the pull. Bobbi mainly likes to use the stunning local woods, and sources wood such as marri and tuart. She says that readily available wood... like ply, chopping boards, wooden spoons and keepsakes can be a great starting point as a canvas for creative designs. What is pyrography you ask? The art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. Come along and improve a current art or enjoy learning a new one. 12.01.2022 Ainsley Castle is passionate about getting people moving! Her special areas of interest are teaching dance and fitness to children, seniors, and participants living with intellectual disabilities. Ainsley is trained and experienced in delivering dance and fitness programs. She is a qualified Personal Trainer with a Certificate IV in Fitness, has a Group Exercise Leader certification and Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching certification. Ainsley also teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced Line Dancing with the Over 50’s Recreation Association. You can go 'Line Dancing for Beginners during week 1 Albany Summer School 2021
09.01.2022 Melissa Sims passion for macramé began 3 years ago while she was on holidays in Queensland. One workshop later she was hooked and hasn’t stopped since. An experienced, qualified floral designer, Melissa ran her own florist and art gallery in the beautiful hinterland of the Sunshine Coast QLD for several years. This allowed her to immerse her creative mind in a variety of art and craft mediums and develop a keen eye for colours and design, which she loves to share. Share she will during her course taking place in week 2 Albany Summer School 2021, so if you have wanted to master the craft of macrame then this course is for you

01.01.2022 Angela Stewart is a West Australian visual artist who has pursued an interest in portraiture for more than three decades, leading her to study the history of portraiture and its contemporary practice in both her Masters and Doctorate at Curtin University, Western Australia. In 2013 she became a foundation member of artcollectiveWA. She is in several major collections (selected) Curtin University, BHP Billiton, University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, WA, BankWest, Kedumba Drawing Award, NSW and Cruther’s Collection of Women’s Art, St John of God Hospital, City of Albany.
