25.01.2022 Has your ball got a mind of its own? You might be slicing instead of driving. Slicing is common among amateur golfers and can be fixed by tweaking your technique. Try adjusting your swing, alignment, grip and club face for a cleaner, stronger hit. #comeseenq #comeseetnq

25.01.2022 5 Way to Practice Good Golf Etiquette Etiquette during a game of golf is more than just a handshake and polite conversation. Golf etiquette means respecting every player on the course - and the course itself. As the saying goes, if you look after the course, the course will look after you. Failing to repair your gameplay damage is unforgivable. ...Continue reading

24.01.2022 Why no Accommodation? At Albatross North Queensland Golf Tours, we care about two things: the golf and the weather. With an average annual temperature of 29 degrees and over 260 days of sunshine a year, Far North Queensland has the weather sorted. The golf is up to us. We guarantee every course we include in our golf packages has been played, reviewed, compared and finally chosen for complexity, quality and challenge. Our golf packages feature the best golfing our region has... to offer. What we cant guarantee is accommodation, which is why weve chosen to exclude this from our packages. While we do have access to local providers, we believe in the interests of value and personal gratification that its better for all parties involved to leave the accommodation to you, our valued golfers. The same applies to airfares. We want your golfing experience to be a tee off in a tropical paradise! Well focus on the sweeping greens and clear blue skies and leave the rest to you. Head to our website: www.albatrossnqgolftours.com.au to explore our range of golfing tour packages. We have a tour to suit every golfer looking to swing their clubs in beautiful Far North Queensland. 16.01.2022 Does Anyone like Slow Play? The tedious terror of the fairway. The time-wasting torment that grinds golfers the world over. Every player has experienced slow play on some level, whether theyre stuck behind a dawdler or theyre the dawdler themselves! Slow play can turn a quick 18 holes into a saga. No one likes breathing down another players neck or wasting a day waiting while the group in front ambles about at glacial speeds. Slow play can drive a wedge between players an...d sour a day on the greens. In extreme instances, it may even cut a game short, as patience snaps and tempers flare. It seems only fair that the average golfer is able to play at a reasonable speed in a reasonable manner. But then again, what if there are those out there who like slow play? What if there are golfers who lack the drive to hustle from hole to hole? The kind of golfers that prefer to pause and really relish the smooth sweep of the lawns, the sweet scent of grass clippings, the lazy chirp of nearby birds. What if these golfers use the game as an escape from the very same efficiency that shapes the rest of their lives? Golf may be their only opportunity to literally slow down. Their leisurely 18 holes that drive others to madness maybe their version of meditation. What if, by insisting a quick games a good game, other players are encroaching on what could be a desperately needed calm for a very tired spirit? Yes, these slow players impact others, but perhaps some golfers just like slow play. Perhaps they should be left alone to their lingering and considered shots. Perhaps theres a lesson to be taken from their apparent lack of concern for the impatience of their playing companions. Maybe its time for us all to pause & listen to those birds, to smell those grass clippings, soak up that skyline. Life is already a mile a minute, with appointments, deadlines & bustling to and fro. Does this hurry need to be carried over onto the course? Golf is a game that can be savoured. Maybe its time we all slowed down and did just that. What do you think? #comeseenq #comeseetnq #golfathertontablelands #golftropicalnq #golfcairns #golftownsville

11.01.2022 The Great Barrier Reef Is there anything more iconic to Tropical Queensland than the Great Barrier Reef? The Great Barrier Reef has been protecting the shorelines of North Eastern Australia for over 8000 years. Stretching 300, 000 sq kms - larger than the United Kingdom and Ireland combined - the spectacular natural wonder is composed of around 2600 individual reefs that range in size from one hectare to over 10, 000 hectares. Its home to a myriad of animals, including whales, dolphins, and six of the worlds seven species of threatened marine turtles. Every year more than two million visitors marvel at the reef, both from above and below the waves. The natural beauty and diversity of life on the reef has ensured its become one of the worlds most popular travel destinations. Combine this with the neighbouring Daintree Rainforest, an ancient tropical rainforest just as raw and wild and stunning as it was thousands of years ago, youve got a holiday destination unlike any other. Visitors to the Great Barrier Reef can experience the stunning site through a range of activities, from dropping down to the depths and scuba diving with the famous Wally the Maori Wrasse, to cruising the surface in charter vessels. Theres sightseeing seaplane and helicopter flights showcasing the most picturesque cays, glass-bottomed boats and semi-submersible viewing, and snorkelling from islands or over outer edge reefs. 08.01.2022 Gender and Age in Golf?? Getting Women and Juniors on the Greens The idea of golf used to carry certain images. Images mainly of men in terrible sweater, vests & visors. Of wealthy old fellows at the club after a game. Of husbands escaping domestic duties for a day on the greens with mates. Simply put, golf seemed an entirely masculine endeavor. ... Its no surprise, really, as for decades little work was put into encouraging women and children to join the game. There were those that played, but their numbers were low and hardly encouraged by the broader golfing community. Thankfully, these days its different. Stereotypes and small-minded misconceptions are tucked snugly where they belong: in the past. Ladies and Gentlemen, golf has changed. In 1995, women and juniors were barely registering on the radar for most clubs in Australia. In 2020, golf is for everyone, & those same clubs are doing more than ever to engage every gender, age & level. Now, women play alongside men or rule their own tournaments. Though founded in 1950, in the last 10 to 15 years the Ladies Professional Golf Association has gained enormous momentum and have supported, taught & attracted more women to golf than ever before - especially younger women. Alongside the LPGA, the Professional Golf Association of Australia has established the Get Into Golf junior programs, kickstarting a love of golf in hundreds of junior players around Australia. By creating accessible teaching and promoting enjoyment, the PGAA is providing the launchpad for the next generation of Aussie golfers. It makes sense to encourage the growth of a game like golf. Not only is it a pleasant and challenging activity, but its also a fantastic tool for improving the health & fitness of almost everyone. Its low impact, theres no thumping pulses (apart from the palpitations you experience when you watch your ball miss the hole by this much), & theres no physical trauma (unless you stand too close to someone teeing off). Golf is great for any age, fitness level, & gender. Golf gets you moving, gets you outdoors & gets you into nature. Australians are living longer and longing to live better & golf is the perfect way for men, women & kids to seize the day and embrace a healthier lifestyle. #comeseenq #comeseetnq #golfcairns #golfathertontablelands #golftropicalnq #golftownsville

01.01.2022 Port Douglas Sunshine, clear blue waters and no traffic lights. Sounds like paradise, doesnt it? Port Douglas is just over an hours drive from the Cairns International Airport. The curving highway north hugs the coastline and offers spectacular ocean views that set the tone for what lies ahead. Port Douglas is a favourite destination for travellers from all walks of life, from backpackers, families to the rich and famous.... Despite its popularity, Port Douglas has managed to maintain the tropical village vibe. The pace is perfect for long lunches, lazy strolls and laying by the beach. The relaxed ambience blends effortlessly with the sophistication of resorts and the vibrancy of local eateries to create an intoxicating atmosphere that captures the hearts of visitors. And its likely to stay that way for a long time to come. Port Douglas developments are limited to the height of the tallest tree, which converts to - generally speaking - a maximum of 3 storeys. That means no skyscrapers crowding the shoreline and spoiling your view. In fact, many of the resorts are tucked away, hidden amongst the trees, that youll wonder where all the tourists are. Port Douglas is the perfect escape from the city without excluding you from all the wonder that Tropical Queensland has to offer. The town is a hub for sailing, diving, snorkelling and fishing tours out to the Great Barrier Reef. Its also a hop, skip and a jump from the pristine Daintree Rainforest, the stunning Cape Tribulation and the rugged beauty of the Northern Queensland Outback. If youre looking for a place to recharge away from the city noise while still experiencing everything the tropics is known for, then Port Douglas could be the ideal location for your next getaway.
