23.01.2022 This is a concept at the moment, one that hopefully will become a reality in the coming months. Before today I had posted a summary of how this might happen on my Facebook and Nextdoor. I thought it would also be useful to have a FB page to share information. See the next post for a copy of the initial concept. Ian... (Ian Law)

22.01.2022 I’ve edited the event listed for Saturday 1 February 2020 at 11:30 a.m., changing the start to 2:00 p.m. We needed to change the location from The Pear to Trinity Alberton Church hall, 793 Torrens Road, Alberton (off Station Place).

16.01.2022 Possible meeting to discuss the idea at The Pear (49 Sussex Street, Alberton) on Saturday 1 February or Sunday 2 February at 11:30 a.m. Who is interested, and for which day(s)?

14.01.2022 A first meeting to discuss ideas for establishing a community garden in Alberton was held in the Trinity Alberton Uniting Church hall at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. ...23 people attended. After each person had introduced themselves, small groups discussed their ideas under the categories of Where? What? Why? and How? These ideas were then shared with the whole group, and summarised by Annemijn. This summary has been sent by email as: 1. A photograph (also attached to this post in the comments area) 2. An Excel spreadsheet In short, a small group is going to meet on Monday 3 February to develop the ideas with a view to developing a preliminary proposal, and likely arranging another meeting in about 6 weeks. 11.01.2022 News coming soon. After COVID-19 put a brake on developing this concept, some things have happened recently. I'm just checking that my understanding is correct before providing an update. I should have something out later this week. This is likely to include an event on Saturday 29 August 2020. Ian

10.01.2022 The Pear Cafe team has developed an art project which includes the creation of 10 art installations (some permanent and some temporary) as part of the SA Living Artists (SALA) month (August). On 29th of August all of the 10 art pieces will have been completed and a walking tour of the sites will be promoted. The Bringing Back the Butterflies team was encouraged to develop a complementary idea to add to The Pear's project. BBB was awarded a PAEC COVID grant to establish a butt...Continue reading
