23.01.2022 Saturday 21st saw the cancellation of the formal racing program at ASC, but sailors still enjoyed some good morning sailing and an informal trophy race conducted by OOD Gary Todd in the afternoon Note the correct social distance between competitors. . And a big welcome to Mitch out in the club Zest (yellow sail) - great to see you back. Fortunately our clubrooms are also large enough that we could enjoy some good companionship following the race whilst still adhering to current social gathering guidelines.

We had a few people down to checkout Albert Park Lake and the ASC area on wednesday 21st, with a few out for a sail. The photo enclosed is of Orlando from Royal Brighton who sailed his Laser Radial with the Lake the only stretch of water he could sail on within 25 k’s from home. Rod was also out in his Laser Radial and Steve with his model boat, boat enjoying the opportunity for a sail in ideal 10 to 15 knot southerlies. No organised club activity as yet, but looking likely for an early to mid November resumption, with announcements on easing of restrictions for community sport soon, hopefully, in the next few days. Updates will be provided in Thursday Snippets and on Facebook. A few people have indicated they are likely to come down on the long weekend. The weather forecast suggests Friday will be the best of the days, with a cold front due through on saturday morning. If the weather is looking good, it is likely there will also be some down next wednesday afternoon. In accordance with Government regulations the ASC clubrooms are still closed, however, toilets can be used if you have a pass to access the clubrooms. The ASC COVID19 guidelines for members and visitors on our club website www.albertsc.org.au are being updated weekly and should be looked at if you are coming down.
