25.01.2022 A big shout out the amazing crew who came today for our 2nd learning day A couple of the things we covered were: - How to select and de-select 4wd / 2wd - What gear to travel in and what speed - Engine braking (auto & manual) and DAC... - Picking your wheel track and throttle control - Correct & safe use of a winch, winch blanket during a recovery. - Maintaining a safe distance between vehicles - Assessing a secondary route when track blocked - Following wheel tracks to avoiding sliding - Airing tyres down and why to do so We will be holding more of these days as we progress into the future. They are FREE of charge as we want our friends and family to enjoy their 4x4 to its fullest potential and then return home safely. 19.01.2022 Temporary Closure: Ocean Beach closed to all vehicles and all dogs until Friday 9 October The full length of Ocean Beach, from Macquarie Heads to Trial Harbou...r, is currently closed to vehicles and dogs until Friday 9 October. This includes all motorised vehicle types; all formal and informal access points; and all on-leash and off-leash dogs. Walkers continue to be welcome, with plenty of opportunities for spotting predatory birds, wildlife, and fish making the most of the whale carcasses. The Parks and Wildlife Service expects whale carcasses may continue to wash up on beaches throughout this area for some time. PWS apologises for any inconvenience.
