23.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: COVID-19: To all our Junior parents please be advised if your child attends Keilor Downs Primary, Keilor View, Albanvale Primary which have been closed due to suspected COVID-19 cases we kindly ask that under NO circumstances is your child to attend training until you have been given the all clear by relavant authorities. If you or your child is feeling unwell please do the right thing by not attending training and having the matter addressed by heal...th authorities. This is a pre-caution that our club needs to take to ensure the health of all our members and your child’s health too. All other juniors are to attend training as per normal. 22.01.2022 IMPORTANT JUNIOR CLUB NOTICE Its been a difficult and challenging 2020 to say the least for the ALBION Family and it will be remembered as the season where we didnt get a single kick. We have certainly seen the downs and suffice to say we will be glad to see the end of 2020. As a community club, like all of you we have missed being amongst friends and seeing the enjoyment of our junior players as they trained and competed playing this wonderful sport.... Like many organisations, the club has certainly seen its share of challenges. The fact that we like all clubs have been charged FEES by Football Victoria (FV) for a season where we did not play a single game has added pressures on club finances. What does this mean for you and the club? It will mean that the club is obligated to pay these fees to the FV for each registered footballer for a season that was abandoned in 2020 and of course there will be new fees payable in 2021. Will the cost be passed onto me for season 2021? As players and parents be rest assured that monies paid in 2020 will be credited towards the costs of 2021. We will work with you and we ask you to work with us as we navigate through these very different set of circumstances that we all find ourselves in. The club plans on increased fundraising activities and sponsorship and we ask the community to share any ideas that you may have that will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the club. If you know of any possible sponsors or you wish to sponsor, please reach out to the club by emailing to [email protected]. Last week, we also had our first junior teams get together and commence training. It was wonderful to see the children having a kick and smiling again, there were times through the year we truly thought this was becoming more and more challenging. We look forward to seeing everyone back on January. We will shortly be announcing an open day for families and footballers to come to the club to catch up with others after such a long break. This will be a great opportunity to press the reset button. Please take the time with family and friends to relax and enjoy the festive season. 20.01.2022 We’re delighted to announce the coaching appointments of Max & Felipe ( Phill ) Alvear as Reserves Coaches. His exposure and experience in development of youth footballers have helped shape his philosophy of building a player development culture at previous clubs. We are thankful that he has accepted the responsibility to lead our team. Both were incredibly well-rounded and matched up extremely well against the attributes that we were targeting.... Reserves team training along with trials will commence Tuesday night from 6:30pm alongside the Senior team. Without hesitation, we want to do a huge shout out to two strong volunteers and supporters of local football over many years. When considering your vote this election, please consider these two fantastic locals. Cr Janev Aziz in the Grasslands Ward has been a dedicated volunteer at Albion for decades which has seen her donate thousands of hours for the betterment of local sport in particular ju...nior girls. As you know, Steven Tabban in the Harvester Ward is not only a diehard supporter but has been a proud major sponsor for several seasons demonstrating his desire to give back to locals. He’s commitment and loyalty to grassroots football would make him a fitting councillor. 06.01.2022 To all club members, Effective 11:59 pm dated the 8th of July 2020 all footballing activities are to IMMEDIATELY cease for a minimum 6 week period as a result of a general directive given by the Victorian Government and Public Health Officer as a result of the Pandemic. Any training conducted or undertaken from this time and date onwards is not club or Football Victoria sanctioned.
