25.01.2022 Cross-country carnival: Our school cross - country carnival will be held next Thursday, 17 September at the Albury Sports Ground (Albury Tigers Football Oval). All students will walk to the Albury Sports Ground from school with their class teacher. They will return before the early bus bell in the afternoon after all races have been completed. It is expected that all students will travel to and from the carnival with their class. Parents are not to attend due to COVID restric...tions and all students must walk back to school with their class. Students will need to have suitable clothing to compete in and must wear shoes when competing. Hats and drink bottles with water must be brought by students. Sunblock and warm clothing may be required on the day. Students are encouraged to dress in their house colours. It is recommended that children bring a healthy snack and lunch to eat at the venue (Lunch Orders will be unavailable on this day). They will have time to eat recess throughout the day while watching the events. As most students have returned a Local Area excursion form, they are not required to return a permission note for this activity. However, if you have not returned a Local Area permission note, the cross-country carnival permission note will need to be signed and returned to the school prior to next Thursday. There is no cost associated with this cross-country carnival.

Our boomerangs look fantastic with the Aboriginal symbols scratched or painted on to tell a story. It was wonderful to see so many students wearing the Aboriginal colours. 16.01.2022 Tell Them From Me student survey: Information and consent for parents and carers: This term, in Weeks 9 and 10, your school is taking part in the Tell Them From Me student survey. The survey will provide us with valuable feedback on what our students think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. Schools in Australia and around the world have used the Tell Them From Me survey to help them improve. The survey ...is completed on-line and is run by an independent research company, The Learning Bar, which specialises in school-based surveys. Staff in schools will not be able to identify individual students from their responses. To ensure confidentiality, participating students will receive a unique username and password. The survey typically takes 30 minutes or less to complete and will be administered by the school during normal school hours. Once the surveys are completed by students, reports are prepared and in most cases are available to schools within three business days. This survey will help our school better understand how to improve student wellbeing and engagement. It will help the school identify what works to improve student outcomes. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary. Your child will not take part if either you or your child do not wish. If, during the survey, your child is uncomfortable, he/she can choose to stop the survey at any time. The majority of questions in the survey can be skipped. If you do not want your child to take part in the survey, please let the school know by the end of Monday 14 September. More information about the survey and the research is available in English on the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation website: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for-parents

13.01.2022 Are you missing a chat with your child's teacher? With COVID preventing parents from entering the school grounds, you may be missing the chance to bump into your child's teacher and have a quick chat about how they're doing, or how you're doing, or just to say hello. Most class teachers line up with their class outside at the end of the school day, and are very happy to come over to the fence to say a brief hello (while maintaining social distancing).... Please remember - if you have any particular query or concern about your child, don't forget to contact the school directly (email [email protected] - you'll get a reply within 1 or 2 business days).
