21.01.2022 BNSW has recently released their updated dates and venue/s for the High Performance Program (HPP) trials . At the current time the NSW Office of Sport has cross region travel restrictions in place for sport which is due to expire on the 28th September. Sporting bodies across most sports are anticipating this will not being extended. For those athletes that are intending to register for HPP we would like to assist you with your preparation. Similar to the training we ran la...st year we will run through the HPP program and help athletes better understand what to expect. At the current time and based on court availability we expect training could be delivered on a Tuesday evening. Before we confirm this will go ahead we are asking for EOI's from interested athletes to be submitted direct to Pete Bauerle at [email protected] Interested athletes must be current domestic and Albury Representative players. Priority will be given to those athletes that have already registered for HPP. If you have any questions please call Pete on 0407348018 Thanks

16.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE Junior Basketball is due to recommence this coming Monday, 12th October. Up to now the junior domestic competition has been highly successful and our young basketballers are clearly enjoying being back on court.... *No Change to Spectator Rules* After consultation with Lauren Jackson Sports Centre Management (Albury City Council) and other user groups we have confirmed we will be maintaining the 1 spectator/guardian per player rule for the remainder of the season. Even though the NSW Office of Sport recently announced changes to allow 2 parents per player, this was more aimed at outdoor sports which would not have the space limitations of an indoor venue. Any change to move in this direction with our basketball competitions would require even more volunteers, more space and more policing. Albury Basketball is not prepared to put the success of our current season at risk and will maintain the rules we have been operating under for the first half of the season for the remainder of the season in 2020. We have had limited issues to date however can we please remind all players and spectators of the following: Only one parent/guardian and 1 player can enter the stadium we have had examples of people trying to bring more than one spectator in. No siblings are permitted to enter the stadium we have had examples of parents trying to bring other siblings into the stadium. No girlfriends or boyfriend are permitted to games. This has been an ongoing issue on Friday evening games. Spectators must stand on the marked areas in the stadium complacency was starting to creep in toward the end of term 3. Some parent spectators have exhibited a behaviour of entitlement to enter the stadium and not follow our marshal instructions. These behaviours make managing the competition difficult and will not be tolerated. Albury Basketball requests that all players and spectators respect the processes and rules we need to have in place for our sport to keep operating. We do not expect the current processes and rules to change anytime soon and your ongoing support is very much appreciated. Please ensure all player, coaches, parents and guardians are aware of this communication. Albury Basketball Association
