21.01.2022 B’ GRADE WRAP from Anthony Tucker SEASON 2019/20 It was another excellent season for the ‘B’ grade with 12 wins to finish in third spot on the ladder. We were due to play Uraidla in the Semi-Finals before the season was sadly cut short. 19.01.2022 Our next coaches wrap up for the season is from Under 14 BLACK TEAM coach Simon Wise Batting aggregate: Charlie Morbey 397 runs Batting average: Charlie Morbey 397 @ 198.5 Bowling aggregate: Angus Bilsborow 8 wickets @ 12.87. ... Bowling average: Oscar Steer 4 wickets @ 11.75. Coaches award: Tommy Sanders for putting in 120% every game & every training session. He also took a couple of big wickets, hit a few important runs and got a great run out vs SCIB’s. Hi everyone, it was an unfortunate premature end to the year but a successful one in making the finals, where I’m sure we would’ve performed well. It was an absolute pleasure coaching the boys, and I’ve got to say a lot of fun. They gelled really well as a team which resulted in great cricket played consistently over the season. I’d like to thank all the parents for helping out throughout the season with special mention to Tim Morbey who helped set up every home game...thanks mate I owe you a beer when the clubs back open I look forward to seeing you all next year as we head towards bigger and better things. The HCA presentation evening has been suspended as it is deemed a non essential gathering of people. It is intended to hold the event at a later date

18.01.2022 The start of our Coaches wrap ups for the season, stay tuned for more teams over the next couple of weeks! UNDER 14s GOLD TEAM - batting aggregate Will Thomas 139 ave 27.80... - batting average Seb Lennon 50.50 - bowling aggregate Leo Bawden 6 wickets 12.50 ave -bowling average Seb Lennon 11 average -coaches award Sam Carraher, Stuck his hand up to open when most didn’t want too! With a very young U14 team and dual coaches Aldgate Gold held itself very well against some quality opposition throughout the summer. It was a season of frustration if we were not being cancelled due to excessive heat and/or fires it was rain. We did however, spend considerable time focussing on our skills and we were please to see great development in fielding, catching and throwing. Our batting was also well above our initial expectations given our young pups would be facing some well-developed older boys who delivered some serious heat at times. It should also be noted that every single member of the batting line up had a cameo at some stage. The boys got to experience near impossible targets through to some easier opposition and, as coaches it was exceptional to see every member of the team step up throughout the season. A highlight for coach Carracher was when our boys faced up to Bridgewater in near darkness with some very quick bowlers sending missiles down, we were able to see them off with the weather again unfortunately destroying the opportunity for a great out-right victory! Excusing the cliché, it truly was a pleasure to coach these young men and while we didn’t get on the paddock nearly enough, we are grateful to have spent some time getting to know your boys. Additional thanks need to go to Amanda for sorting us out and putting her hand up to score which in itself deserves a medal. We also want to thank you, the parents for driving, supporting and helping out to ensure the team could focus in the next run or wicket. I for one will never again complain about taking kids to sport and have my fingers crossed that we are all driving to a game of some sort very soon. From Bruce and Nick cant wait to see you next season.

16.01.2022 Our club President Marius was also the coach of our Under 16s team, this is his wrap on the teams year; Bat Agg - Thomas McCourt (278 runs) Bat Ave - Thomas McCourt (278 runs @ 55.6) Bowl Agg - Callum Wauchope (9 wickets)... Bowl Ave - Max Bilsborow (7 wickets @ 7.14) Coaches Trophy - Felix Farmer In a way, the finish of the year probably sums up what was a strange year for the u/16’s. With the structure of the competition it was difficult to gain any momentum as a team- but to the players credit I feel as a team we all improved and I hope the boys will be back again in a few months’ time to start another season with Aldgate. Firstly- I want to thank the players for giving me such an enjoyable year as Coach. The team is extremely talented but the guys as very close mates and play well as a team. Our Semi Final winning team was very young with 4 u/14’s, 4 first year u/16’s and only 3 2nd year under 16’s the team success was a true credit to the talent and hard work of the players. I am sure we scared all the teams with our talent. Not the least Stirling- who escaped with the flag. I remember our first game v Uraidla when our young team beat Uraidla- and their Coach said to me Wow we didn’t expect that. We underestimated you. As a young team we did make mistakes and I hope the guys understand a couple of times when I got upset with their results it was not criticism but a golden opportunity to learn and improve. Making the Grand Final was a great effort- but unfortunately with the cancellation of the season we were unable to experience the grand final pressure- which I am confident we would have handled well and if nothing else it would have been a great experience for their future development. The year that could have been- but a very enjoyable year for me- great lads, extremely talented and great fun to spend the season with. Thank you Everyone, Stay safe. Regards Marius

08.01.2022 To All Club Players and Supporters, Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic all cricket games / activities have been cancelled for the remainder of the season. Further to this the HCA has announced tonight that minor premier teams have been appointed Premiers for 19/20 season.... Although the season has been cut short - we should be proud of our Club's past season both on and off the field. The u/14's and u/16's presentations will be confirmed by Coaches in coming days.The senior presentation night will be reviewed and a date confirmed as soon as possible- expect June/ July. Thank you for your participation and committment to the growth of the Aldgate Cricket Club. For now- please stay safe and protect your friends and family over coming weeks- as we have a lot of years of celebrating left to do together.
